November 12, 2008 1:19 PM- the very naughty, no good, completely corrupted puppy

HENRY: Gee whiz, Daisy-- you've really done it this time. I can't even get her to acknowledge my brooding good looks.

DAISY: Oh trust me, I've been sighing deeply all morning without so much as a biscuit tossed my way. I mean really-- how long do these punishments go on for? I could use a cuddle.

HENRY: Well, Ollie is more of an expert in this arena than I am, but generally it's in proportion to the time you were gone.

DAISY: Is there anything I can do to shorten my sentence?

HENRY: Hard to say-- you don't have the furrowed brow which is truly a gift in situations like this, but I guess I'd advise you to recall the puppy pose-- you know, the really sweet, adorable puppy gaze. She's a sucker for that.

DAISY: It's not working. This woman is made of ice! I mean, come on-- so we took off for bit of a hike-- so maybe we did cross a few major roads and travel 15 or 20 miles. Somebody found us, right? No harm, no foul--- It's not like we were never gonna come back-- we just lost track of time, you know?

HENRY: Give it up. You're one of us now-- welcome to the club kid.

DAISY: I don't feel so good.

HENRY: Better now?

DAISY: Ohhhh yes-- muchly, thanks!

got 2 cents?

Oh man! I would have been so panicked! But it reminds me of the time Isabelle almost made it downtown (crossing a major street) and a friend asked if Izzie had put on her lipstick to go shopping. I died laughing thinking of a beagle in lipstick!

just saw a commercial ....not paying enough attention to know if it's real or not yet but mini-GPS systems on dog collars that will "text" you to tell you where they are. now that' something the blonde bunch at your house could really benefit from!

Oh no did the smell of deer make wild dogs out of these two... or did Ollie join in on this excursion? Thank goodness they are home safe and sound. You may now rest easy.

And during deer season too! My parents have to put blaze orange bandannas on their two prison escapees this time of year. I'm glad your hoodlums made it safely home in one piece!

At least Henry has the grace to look slightly ashamed -- or is he tricking me with his furrowed brow? Glad everyone is home safe. And that GPS for dogs thing is real -- I heard about it on the radio the other day.

OMG heart attack. The only thing scarier than dogs taking off is running out of been on a Saturday night in a state with blue laws.
