November 25, 2008 10:48 PM- performer? really?

photo taken November 21, 2007

So, the picture above was taken a year ago-- but, outside of the chair down in the field (yes! This year, I actually brought in the chairs and stored them safe and warm and then? a flock of squealing pigs flew overhead!) it's pretty much what it looks like around here right now.

Snow.

How long do you think I can go without typing those four letters in that sequence?

Hmmmm, I'm thinking I would like to engage in a contest with you. How long CAN I go without that word? What would be the wager? What should be the wager? Come on now, let's make it good.

Anyway, en route to school this morning when the car went completely out of my control and began spinning, sliding horizontally down the center of the road before veering into a ditch which then bumped me back out on the road a hair's breath before I had a very intimate conversation with the belly of a massive oak tree. Just call me the pinball wizard.

Sheesh.

How long did it take me to return to breathing normally?

Don't answer that-- it's a trick question. I never breathe normally. Shallow breather, tight-chested breather, sucky yoga breather-- that would be me. Crazy isn't it? How do we learn how to breathe incorrectly? What is that all about?

Wow-- not sure how I ended up talking about breathing but, you know, my apologies--

On to my current project--- I should be embarrassed to admit (but I can wantonly confide to you that I am not the least bit embarrassed) that I have done exactly nada to prepare for Thanksgiving. As in, no turkey has been ordered, no pies have been baked, no tablecloths have been gently and lovingly laundered. (SEE: previous post, laundry, no concern).

As we have our dear faux cousins coming over I do have to roust up a bit of festive gruel so tomorrow it's off to the grocery store for me. How long does it take to defrost a turkey, anyway?

I'm screwed-- aren't I? Oh well-- there will be buckets of mashed potatoes and wine-- good enough. That's the best part about having friends who are like family but not actually your family for the holidays--- they don't care. It's all good.

Last thing before I sign off here -- what's your take on the following? For my part, I'm slightly amazed at the accuracy and wondering how it works, but you will have a more objective take for sure.

If you type in the url for this site into this analyzer out pops this image and description:

ESFP - The Performers

The entertaining and friendly type. They are especially attuned to pleasure and beauty and like to fill their surroundings with soft fabrics, bright colors and sweet smells. They live in the present moment and don't like to plan ahead - they are always in risk of exhausting themselves.

They enjoy work that makes them able to help other people in a concrete and visible way. They tend to avoid conflicts and rarely initiate confrontation - qualities that can make it hard for them in management positions.

Hmmm-- always in risk of exhausting themselves . . let me ponder that one.

Meantime, happiest of Thanksgivings to you! I am so grateful for your company, for your care, for your participation in this wacky blog thing-y. I am deeply grateful for so very much.

Blessed be ~

Why the turkey? Who the hell decided that you have to eat turkey at thanksgiving. Grill up some salmon or steaks on the BBQ. Turkey Schmurkey.

Okay, I'm game...Betch ya can't go without using the "s" word for the months of December and January. If you can, I'll send you a "nice" prize. If you blow it, you have to send me a "nice" prize. Perhaps the prizes are handmade or perhaps they're tickets to Santa Fe. BUT, can you go without saying "frozen white shit" for 2 months??? With regards to defrosting a turkey at this late hour...your goose is cooked :^)

Ohh, it's Thanksgiving. Wondered why the internet was so quiet. I'd eat mashed potato and wine for every meal if I could. Enjoy your holiday and watch out for that slippery white stuff. Oh, I'm a "performer" too apparently...
