May 10, 2006 8:53 AM- on the up and up

It appears the terrible ass-dragging affliction is waning.

No, I haven't actually accomplished anything and yes, the glimmer of hope that I might one day engage in purposeful activity is still off in the distance, taunting me.

However, the feeling as I move through the day has become far less weighted. I am actually, once again, experiencing pure joy in one moment after the other. And, most importantly, can sustain the lightness throughout the day.

Hoo-RAH.

T, on the other hand, is a ball of fire who has accomplished something Fffing amazing in the past few weeks*. To be in his presence is to feel the life force energy--to know the magic of creative output. And, fortunately for me, he does not care one shitteth if I knit, sew, paint, write, or otherwise engage in creative output.

It's only my inner voices that drive endless circles through the colliseum of my mind like a starving, hyper-caffeinated pack of coyotes.

What I should have here for you are photographs of the two most scrumptious, ever-loving, bundles of golden fur ever landed on the planet. Now-- BOTH with shaved spots as Ollie spent the day yesterday chez vet in order to have his spleen ultrasounded.

He came home with a shaved belly so the pair of them look like they live with a three-year old who has access to his father's electric shaver.

Oh well.

They must know I need some extra snuggles of late as they follow me everywhere and their cuddles are the stuff of legends.

Naturally, taking photographs and uploading them would fall into the category of productive behavior, so it may be a bit before we have some new sweetness to share. But, as I say, the clouds have lifted and I do believe it will be sooner than later.

*His secret. I'll share it when I can.

Also, so that your visit here was not entirely wasted, here are two (new to me) sites that I am enjoying.

sometimes ass-dragging is necessary while your brain gears up for a wonderful spurt of creative energy. Enjoy the flow! And yay to T for big things! -XO, Bridget

the puppies, they always know when you need extra love, don't they? And they are so willing to give it to you. I'm glad you're feeling lighter.

I've been feeling that way for a while now, too, like the lull between projects is SURE to come to an end soon, and I think I've been basking in the lull, and the knowledge there WILL be productivity again, because I haven't really kicked myself into gear yet. Good luck with your productivity!

Boy, do I know about the ass-dragging. My default gear is park, so it's always an effort to get up and go. You've got my sympathy, BP!

Did you know that 7000 steps per day is what it takes to be at a "feel-good" level? Make the BBoys take you out for another walk :) I think you should make designs in their fur with T's electric razor just for the fun of it while they're still growing back the legitimate patches. :P

I am now addicted to Karin's blog! It's getting so late I must go to bed but all I can think about is getting up early tomorrow so I can look at all the links I bookmarked from there. Such an avalanche of inspiration - thank you! re: the ass dragging - maybe you are subconsciously resting after your recent creative forays? I can always justify ass dragging!

The ass-dragging, it is happening here, too. I'm so ready for Saturday in my pajamas and endless cups of coffee, and hopefully some restorative time with the Green Bean Kid. Velcro crawled into bed with me the other night and I thought I'd resurrected right to heaven - a perfect book to read, and the snuggliest black dog to curl up and snooze with. Blowing you lots of kisses~*smack*

Dog cuddles are amazing. We call our babies (Ruby and Mr Big) "The Swine" when they are acting out, being cute or just collectively awesome as only one's dogs can. Hence in our house, Swine Love is a very good thing ideed. May your pen over runneth with Swine Lovin' !!

I am horrible, horrible, HORRIBLE! I've gotten used to checking my aggregator site for blog updates and i don't have you on there (i know you don't publish a feed), so i completely blanked on checking your site for the last few weeks! But, i'm all caught up now and glad to see you're doing well in your lush green environment and that the butterscotch boys are relatively trouble-free. I LOVE the satorialist -- I just found his site a few weeks ago and have been enjoying it immensely!

god, honey, i hear you on the ass-dragging. somehow the entire month of april passed me by (and now, half of may) without me getting one BIT of work done, because of depression. i flopped myself across the bed day before yesterday and sobbed. then hormones kicked in, thank god, and i could blame it on that. it's been raining here a lot. i know you love rain, and i do too, but good GOD i could use some sunshine. in short - i feel your pain, 'lizbuth. xoxoxoxoxoxoxo me

Yay for spring and for crabapple trees and patchy dogs and getting your groove back. Maybe you just needed that fallow time, like seeds do before they sprout. The bleeding hearts and hostas here have made amazing strides in just 4 days--full foliage and full bloom!...and now, after the exclamation points, the rain for a week and a half.
