March 31, 2006 8:07 AM- Henry branches out

Update: Henry is OK. Yay! He not only survived his surgery, but is adapting with his regular stoicism to the familiar restrictions of the super-fun dog collar (for those of you who remember his brush with coyote-love late last summer) and the latest medical innovation: the rubber tube sticking out of his side.

A close-up photo of the tube seemed in order but turned out to be horrendously gross- so you'll have to make do with a parting shot of our patient, along with one shot of the nice gift we received from the beloved Dr. J (he's getting to be like family!) upon arrival at the Animal Hospital last night. Ed. note: OK, it's only 2 1/2 inches long....

Thanks so much for all of your wishes and concern. You all are the best! T-H-E B-E-S-T!

P.S. BP's having the time of her life, BTW; but apparently, as expected, does not have access to a computer.

P.P.S. Clarification about that last post: yes, the stick is clearly visible in both pictures! That's why I posted them, silly....

whew! So relieved. Heal quickly Henry and let's try to have an accident free summer, deal? (I'm thinking you need to start a new Safety Program with one of those "Number of Accident Free Days" signs. And liberal treats for those days in which there are no canine encounters with pokity sticks of considerable length, coyotes with naom Campbell-esque tempers, or malevolent porcupines.)

Yay for T for keeping us updated during BP's absence. And that "foreign object" looks a mile long to me,...and probably felt the same to Henry. EEK.

Henry is a stoic and dignified gentleman, um, gentledog. I'm so glad the ordeal is over for him - and his loving parents - and that he has persevered and is doing well! Thanks T for giving us the update. I was waiting anxiously!

Oh, ouch! Poor, poor Henry. They should make designer dog collars (which I just accidentally typed as "god collars," which are something entirely different): Think sparkles. Think feathers.

Oh, poor Henry!!! If I were him I'd hate that neck thing...Then again, I'm sure it's much better than the big ol' cone that they used to use. I'm glad he's doing ok and I hope he's feeling even better soon! ps. For the 5th millionth time, I just gotta tell ya: I LOVE HENRY!
