March 21, 2006 7:41 AM- t-photo

Someday, I will wake up and have my camera right beside me. For the entirety of the day, I will take photos of all that is around us as the light moves from East to West.

This month is Winnie-the-Pooh blustery-- which I love. However, some nights the wind is pummeling the trees so violently that we both stop what we're doing to look up and wonder if we're safe. We are.

This is the house the fourth little piggy built and no howling wolf is gonna bring it down.

Of course, one of the reasons I enjoy March so much is because of my love of clean and order (which I recently read could be caused by growing up in an environment of total disorder and chaos--which in my case, rang true). When the wind blows like this it is Nature swiffing the forest floors. The winds of March is just earth housecleaning-- brushing out the old branches, taking down dead trees, fluffing up the fields.

I said this the other day, or something like that-- and T did one of his 'I'm laughing at you, not with you' snickers.

Gotta fly to work-- here's a photo T took yesterday from our back porch trying to capture the wind ruffling through a white pine.

P.S. If you haven't seen the budding poppy photos Andrea has posted GO GO GO-- they are so precious and erotic and hopeful and all that is good in the world. The March 19 one just slays me.

got 2 cents?

Ahh--I loved reading this. I feel this way about thunderstorms--that there is housecleaning in nature going on, and I loved the image of nature fluffing of the fields, almost as much as I loved that beautiful windy photo. I too love wind, but not so much when it brings the windchill temp down into the single digits and I have to walk someplace outside!

I couldn't agree more - my parents are, as they would term it 'creatively messy'. I am incredibly tidy and love order... and as for the march wind cleaning out the natural house, I love it!

Oh, for the wasted photos I couldn't take because I didn't have my camera with me. And oh for the missed thunderstorms which I love, because Sweden doesn't have them hardly ever. And OH for that beautiful rich gorgeous beauty you are surrounded with. I love that photo. And T for takinng it. And you. :)

Did the swans in the banner get blown in from the high winds? I can say that while the cold is getting old, the sunshine is hugely appreciated! And the longer days! Loving that!

Oh, I have to echo Christina-I love that image of nature fluffing the fields! You are a poet. Your spring is emerging so much faster than ours, you give me hope for a warmer planet.

I love how you have described the blustery spring weather. Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day - a favorite of mine as a child. I wish I had your love of the order. Well, I do; I just don't have the motivation to create it in my house. Hmmm...send some to me please...

OMG, what a poetic post. And I I'm so excited by T's photo, it is the first photo I've ever seen that looks like a VanGogh landscape. I *love* looking at it.

I usually keep my camera right next to me but I still miss a lot of shots... It is always the one I miss that I know would have been wonderful. Today, the wind has been picking up leaves under the trees in the woods, blowing them down the hill toward the river. How well you have described March's houscleaning.

Love your description of this month - it definitely has been blustery. I like everything neat and orderly too... if only I could get moving on that!
