April 05, 2006 8:24 PM- a slow, quiet start

(This post is the second in a series of reflections on my experience attending ArtFest 2006).

(((Go here to start at the beginning.

Or visit liz elayne, or kellyrae to read about other people's take on it all.

And here are more amazing artists: Pam Garrison (FABULOUS!); Melanie of Navylane Studio ( I know I've linked to her before, but go see her again!) and my beloved Nina Bagley. (I bought one of her necklaces (the full story will follow as I unfold the Artfest adventure) and it is pure magic. MAGIC, I tell you. And wait-- there's more! On Saturday night we all sang Happy Birthday to Misty-- her artwork is faboo and she has recounted the experience so perfectly.)))).

In this moment, the weariness has finally hit. I'm wiped. Perhaps because I had to drive down to Boston this afternoon then turn around and drive straight back in a wet, windy, snowy, yuckstew visibility kind of day.

But really? I think I'm just tired. It's going to be slow going here for a bit. Probably until after the weekend of the 15th when I have a four-day weekend. That will be my opportunity to get recentered and rebalanced-- just like a car after a long road trip. My alignment is a bit screwy.

Sorry, y'all. Maybe tomorrow I'll be more wordy.

got 2 cents?

It is beautiful...we actually visited that area long, long before Artfest was conceived, and it doesn't look as though it's changed much (thankfully!) I must somehow start saving my pennies for a future Artfest, because this sounds like the most wonderful artcamp for grown-ups ever!

Oh! Did you stay in cabins? I remember that waking up too early from summer camp, and I'd always wander to the trampoline by the lake because I got it all to myself.

Better and better - the Artfest tale begins! (Though I find, in blog related things, the minute I promise a bunch of people I'll write about something - it doesn't happen. A curse. Not to say you are cursed, but you know, it happens!) So get your sweet rest and alignment back in order and we will all sit here, ready for whenever the story comes. It all sounds magical indeed.

Thank you so much for your comment on my blog... ;-) I wish you would have said hi to me, although I know it's such a crazy event...everyone feels like they are spinning...it's just too awesome! I LOVE your pictures! Boston??? Hey that's another east coaster, isn't it time for an east coast Artfest? Well I am already counting down until the next artfest...why is that place so magical? :-)

Lovely! The "installment" format really leaves me looking forward to hearing what happens next! Thanks for the kind comments on my blog. I just finally got through the moderating and didn't realize I had comments! Here's to keeping the creative fires burning regardless of 9-5.

Your half-texty, half-picturepage format has me intrigued...I can't tell if your are being totally avant-garde creative or you just got tired halfway in...either way, I think it's grand!
