April 15, 2006 9:09 AM- sweet studio living

If I?d been gone a week?perhaps I?d make some reference to my recent lack of posting?but come on people, it hasn?t been that long, has it?

Apparently for some of you, I have been neglectful of this site. And true, there have been no updates on the butterscotch boys for some time?especially, the wounded one. I guess I haven?t been too keen to share since last Monday, when Henry was supposed to go in to the vet to get his stitches out.

Sunday afternoon was so utterly glorious, I had to take them for a second huge walk at 2 pm?they were jonesing for it and I couldn?t sit still myself?so off we went. And yeah, in about 4.8 minutes they ditched me. Ditched me, the f*ckers.

So when the vet called Monday morning the call went something like this:

T: Hello?

Vet?s lovely assistant: Hi, we?re waiting on Henry. He was supposed to come in at 10?

T: Uh, (totally forgot about the appointment and is now thinking, oh shit, oh shit, oh shit) yeah. Um, well. As soon as he gets back, I?ll bring him in.

Vet?s lovely assistant: Okay!

T hangs up the phone. Does she understand what he just said? Do other people give excuses for their dogs as if the dogs are out running a few errands?

The dogs came back around 5 pm Monday night. Happy as larks.

We, of course, having been through this emotional hellhole yet again, were less jovial.

So, to recap, before getting his stitches out, Henry did a walkabout on the White Mountains. Safe to say, he?s back to his rascal self. The punk.

Other than that?I have been completely absorbed by Spring and my studio. I just don?t want to be anywhere else. Yesterday was a holiday from work (god I love my job when it pays me to stay home!) and I?ve taken Monday off so I am in the middle of a fat, sweet, four-day weekend, glory be.

The only fly in the honey is that last summer I bought a DVD (Andy Goldsworthy, Rivers and Tides) that I never watched and NOW I'm desperate to watch it and I cannot find it anywhere. Grr. Somehow between living above the garage and moving into the house it got stuck in some box. So, I should just buy another one already and shut up. And, count my blessings if these are the "inconveniences" I face.

I am wishing each of you have a wonderful, spirit-filled weekend where you find everything little thing you are looking for!

UPDATE: Do you not just LOVE my husband? When I came back from town this afternoon there was my long-lost DVD! T had gone looking for it and found it in some box with emery boards, calico scraps and mittens. Have I not told you about my spectacular organizational skills?

So, I am watching it tonight and will surely have an opine up soon.

got 2 cents?

My dog used to do the same thing...run off whenever possible. Well, that was about the most frustrating thing. Mostly he would get 'found' by someone, who probably ranted to his/ her spouse that I must be the worst doggie mother ever since I would just let my dog run wild. And of course, I would worry that he would be hit by a car or stolen by gypsies or whatever. Can't they understand how much we worry? Anyway, hope things are better with the oowwie's...

Wishing you a lovely weekend as well full of creativity! Thank you for the mention of Rivers and Tides. I have gone into my Netflix queue and added it in. It sounds really inspiring. I think a great element of this blogworld is being introduced to books, music, films, etc. that I might not have stumbled upon on my own.

My border collie, Ruby, escaped last week and dropped by my neighbour's place for a swim. True story. She loves pools and decided it was time for a few laps. My neighbour LOVED it...it kept her smiling for days...which is perhaps why Ruby decided to do that in the first place.

Well, I have one day left to achieve a wonderful weekend. Yesterday was pretty good, but I always feel such pressure on Sunday to cram everything in all that is awesome and creative and reenergizing.
