October 09, 2007 1:26 PM- maybe this time

Thanks to your encouraging comments, I?ve been digging through old files, old files named ?calendar,? ?poster ideas,? etc. It?s not that I can?t see how a calendar could be made, especially in this golden age of self-publishing, it?s that I can?t ever get beyond the gathering of said photos. When it comes to the actual graphic design needed to do layout and planning, what have you-- I freeze and close up shop.

But this morning I?ve had that song from Cabaret bouncing around in my head: maybe this time. The most ridiculous part of this whole project is that I LIVE with a most amazing graphic designer. A man who, wait for it, makes fabulous Christmas cards for fun. Why, you may ask, don?t we team up on this eensy enterprise?

I don?t have a simple answer for you, but hey!?sing along with me, won?t you?

Maybe this time . . .

Here are some shots from this morning. I can?t seem to resist the red although yellow does deserve some air time.

Meanwhile, thanks to Columbus Day, I am home on a Tuesday and savoring every moment like it were a holiday in Capri. The dogs and I went for a long stroll this morning down to our favorite watering hole and I got utterly lost in time and space?in a good way, in a limberlost way.

I was looking for faces. Have you seen this website? Well, it inspired me and here?s what I found:

a wild boar

a face in a tree

a little fishy

a face peeking out from inside a tree

and a horrible scary face in a tree that made me think of that wretched creature in Pan's Labyrinth.

*shudders*

This is why I got so lost?I was seeing stuff everywhere it was so much fun. I couldn?t resist the one below. Doesn?t it look like the tree in front is leaning backwards into the tree behind her with an arm around his neck? Surely she?s whispering something into his ear like, ?oh darling, let?s go dance on the parapets . .?

got 2 cents?

That website is wonderful! I see everything but the wild boar. :) And lulu.com is super easy for calendars and such.

For as long as I can remember I have been finding faces in everything from the woodgrain of a door to the plaster spackles of the ceiling. Inevitably, my imagination takes a dark turn and all I can see are scary faces and monsters. Hmm, what does that say about me now that I see this typed out?

i'm a slut for the red too. japanese maples around these parts are to DIE for. As for the face peaking out ? haha. I got a serious Georgia O'keefe vibe from that one. If ya know what I mean. heehehe.

Oh! How I love adventures through the woods. I usually look for eyes in tree trunks. This post was full of magic and wonder. Thank you bp.
