Just now . . .

Hey. How was the movie?

You still awake?

Eh.

You're not still working?

Eh. Would I have hated it?

If you like gritty, inner city betrayal - can't trust anybody drama where brains get splattered on the wall, then it was right up your alley.

Somehow, I feel no regret.

The acting was amazing. Leonardo diCaprio was fantastic. But there was no strong woman. No kick-ass woman.

Of course not. That's why I hate Scorsese. He and DeNiro can go make out in a corner somewhere. I have no time for their manly manly dick parade.

You sound tired.

Very.

Go to bed.

Thank you.

got 2 cents?

eh, yeah - my sentiments exactly. I can respect that Scorsese is a talented director, but his films are not to my taste, and not just because of the lack of strong female characters. It IS just all a matter of taste, though.

Oh yeah, that one. I saw the trailer with all the noise, killing and the boomy voiceover guy; afterwards I had no idea what the film was called or what it was about except it starred Leo, Jack - I think? and some other blokes. SO not my cup of tea.

I would like to see the film just to know what the fuss is all about, but I have a suspicion that it will turn out to be a universal guy you movie. You know the ones - The ones that men who have only known each other for five minutes and can hold a sixty minute conversation over. Such as Tombstone, Predator, Goodfellas, Godfather. You get my drift.

I like Scorcese. I liked The Departed, although I wasn't 100% sold on Jack Nicholson in his role. I thought everyone else was great, though. However, I never thought about the lack of strong female characters in Scorcese movies before...even in Taxi Driver the women who seem strong aren't, really.

Thanks for the forewarning. (Still snickering over telling Scorcese & DeNiro to make out in the corner. Though if I had to watch, rather see DiCaprio and Damon in the corner. :)

Add me to the DiCaprio-Damon makeout watching folk! And I liked the movie, even though it is far from my usual taste. The acting was just fabulous all the way around.
