October 05, 2007 11:42 AM- sweet indian summer
Another absolutely gorgeous day. We all got up early (and by early I mean 4:30 am) thanks to the coyotes howling at the rising moon, but it?s just as well. I have meetings all day followed by a faculty dinner and won?t be home again until late tonight so I took the dogs up the mountain this morning. This way, they will be happily snoozing in some sunny spot most of the afternoon. Of course, there were some disgruntled faces before we headed out.
DAISY: What?s Henry crying about now?
OLLIE: He looks like a clown.
HENRY: You can?t make me wear this.
HENRY: Sorry, but I?m going to have to hurt you.
OLLIE: Do it, dude! Take her out.
DAISY: Um, dibs on her fatty thigh.
HENRY: Okay fine. Just promise you won?t let Tim Gunn see me.
As always, once we were cruising up the path through the woods, all sartorial concerns were quickly forgotten. And, once we got to the top,
it was nothing but happy dogs everywhere you looked.

At first, I thought you were doing some kind of cruel Halloween thing to those poor dogs. Then I remembered the horrid hunters. Ollie really wears his with pizazz.

"...dibs on fatty thigh..." whaaaaaaaaaaaaa! what really makes me laugh even harder is the thought of you writting your witty quips and LAUGHING to yourself, because if I were you, that's what I'd be doing. Want to meet for coffee, oh, c'mon, we'll go to Lux my fave shop and we'll dish on our dogs. :)

Glad to see they are all wearing their orange. And, Henry, blaze orange is not a color anyone looks forward to wearing. At least it doesn't clash with your coat color!

eek that is a MUST with those deer colored coats of theirs! Fatty thighs? How about those ears! I notice they are still intact even after a visit from the notorious ear gobbling "Otter". hehehe.

ROTFL... I have to admit when I surfed in I thought it was a Halloween 'clown' look - and then realized it was so you could walk in the woods without the dogs looking like nice plump (albeit short) deer.
Gorgeous dogs... and they look very well behaved. :)

I am glad you showed pictures of the dogs in their orange. I thought maybe YOU had to wear orange, not the dogs. It?s a shame that you even have to do this, although you don?t want them to get shot!
