There's a scene in Big Night after the extravaganza-banquet-feast-party is over where Primo (Tony Shalhoub) and Secondo (Stanley Tucci) go into the kitchen and, without a word of conversation, cook up a simple omelette and eat it while the sun comes up.

That's exactly where I'm at in this moment.

Last week I was in New York City for the APAP Conference. So not only did I see dozens upon dozens of performances, meet dozens upon dozens of artists, meet dozens upon dozens of agents and managers--
I was also staying in a West Village Apartment on East 9th street which meant I couldn't possibly NOT* squeeze in mini-trips to Soho, Amy's Bread and Murray's on Bleeker, etc., etc., etc.

(*Sorry, I'm too tired to even try and go back to fix that double negative--must try and get this post out).

And, we saw the revival of A Chorus Line on Thursday night.

And, I had drinks at the fabulous Bar 6 with the candescent Molly on Wednesday night.

Followed by a Friday lunch at Cafe Deville with none other than that arbitrer of taste and fashion, the creator of "The Smart Set" (posted each Monday at Maud Newton), the urbane, speed-talker herself (she'd give Lorelai a run for her money), Lauren Cerand.

I also managed to lunch at the Carlyle, shop at Barney's, stroll through Bergdorfs and still get my job done.

So, forgive me if all I want to do this morning is sit with my dogs and take in the sweet peace of Soliden. Once the cacophony has drifted out of my ears and the frenetic energy escaped with a hiss from the tired cellular mass that was once my body, I'll be back with stories (and some great links!) to share.
