November 16, 2006 8:37 AM- blue state links

(ED NOTE: How much adorableness can you handle? Go see what Dodo's daughter did with Daisy-- go, seriously, dead cute.

"she thought Daisy was lonely")

Despite the fact that I have yet to finish any of the Henry dog books that are in various stages of development-- there's a new one kicking around in my head; Daisy Has Two Daddies.

Sick.

I know. But you should see the three of them together it's funny as hell. Henry is like central casting for Nana in Peter Pan. However, since I've actually got a backload of work that is past due and no photos of the Brombie Mob to share, here's a link to provide aching ab muscles. (via Lizzie)

dogs are pussies, it's cats that rock

While I'm stealing from the altehaggen, let me also direct you to the Union Leader where poetry is being published on a regular basis!! (Exclamation points for those of you who are familiar with the Union Leader or who share in my gobsmackedness that the ultra-conservative NH paper has space for, you know, pansy art). I'm guessing it's in many of your newspapers as well seeing as it is a poet laureate shareware thing-y. But, who reads newspapers anymore?

For Poetry Thursday: American Life in Poetry.

Another recent discovery: John Mayer can blog. Really. He gets it.

And if you haven't followed Susan back to her website, art esprit you should. All kinds of wonderful goodies and inspirations and good links.

Boy howdy! That's TWO links to New Hampshire. I don't believe I have EVER linked to anything in NH lo these many years of blogging--in fact I am quite certain I have not.

Could that be the Four Horseman I hear coming up my drive?

got 2 cents?

I hate to be a downer in your comments (really)...but seriously, WOULD you write that book? Because even in 2006, the world needs way more tolerance for the two daddies concept. I live in one of the most liberal, granolahead university towns in this country...and at our sister junior high across town recently, a boy was bullied and harassed because he has two dads. But they didn't stop at school--the parents' car was firebombed. There's a school board meeting tonight about this incident and issue. Maybe something as simple as a cute puppy conveying a tolerant message to small kids could plant the seed for tolerance later on.

HAHAHA! I've seen that cat link twice before but even so I still clicked through it and laughed so loudly that Martin came in to see what the heck I was looking at. :D

You are so lucky that your pooches love the little newcomer. Our cats nearly had a heart attack when we brought our Barley in as a puppy...there was a lot of claws-to-the-nose going on till they taught him his limits. They must have believed in tough love (though I'm not sure how much love was involved).

Did you show Daisy her new friends (because even if a girl has 2 dads, she still needs friends!) That was just so sweet, I don't even need my usual RDA of chocolate. Well, almost.

I feel bad about the fact that I have grown to hate cats. It's just that I was traumatized by having psycho housemates with equally psycho or just annoying cats and I don't know...I think I projected something on cats at large. And now I unfortunately have to hang my head at my crazy dog love and crazy cat hate. I'm working on it though. Daisy makes my heart ache more than I ever ached for a baby. I never had baby lust (although I'm so happy as a mom) but PUPPY LUST was always a terrible problem for me. And Daisy's the cutest puppy ever!

That poem was so awesome that I had to copy it into my journal. Just beautiful. Thanks for sharing it - and I wrote at the bottom "shared by Elizabeth Bluepoppy" to throughly confuse any future generations. Maybe they'll go on a quest to find this "Elizabeth Bluepoppy." And John Mayer really does get blogging. I do like that boy - Also, Daisy and her two daddies are always welcome to come play with Velcro, you know, the next time you plan a cross country expedition with your furry kidlets...

John Mayer has a blog? Its title should be, "My Body is a Wonderland."
