T: How about Louise?
Me: Ooh, that's good. In fact, let's go Spanish style and give her four names and we can use ALL of your ex-girlfriends.
T: *crickets*
Me: Louisa Ramona Carole Quinn. Isn't that pretty?
T: (warily) Er, um, could be . . . nice?
Me: I love it. Of course, that's too long a name for such a tiny puppy. She'll need a nickname.
T: *starting to worry*
Me: I know! I'll call her SKANK. Skank! Perfect. Here skanky, c'mon skanky . ..
T: I believe your point has been made. You can move on now.
So, yesterday we brought home a new puppy.
A female. Part golden retriever and part we don't know what else. We know she was the runt of the litter.
Her personality so far is incredibly mellow and sweet. She is calm and doesn't exhibit any of the emotional disorders the butterscotch boys did when we got them, so we're trusting she hasn't experienced any bad traumas.
Speaking of the boys, we had no idea how this new addition would go over, but they have been darling with her.
Henry, in particular, is obsessed. Obsessed. To the point where he won't even take a biscuit.
He follows her everywhere. Of course, he'd love it if she would play with him, but seeing as he could suck her up into one nostril with an easy snort, it's going to be awhile before she'll be much of a playmate.
Oh, and in case you were wondering, we call her Daisy.

Daisy's good. You could could save SKANK!! for those times when she eats the other dogs shit, or rolls about in some decaying animal carcass in the woods, or swims in some stinky, stagnating old puddle. Cos it would bb a shame to let it go altogether!

Thank goodness Miss Daisy matches the boys! I love the neutral color palette of all the sweet doggies! She is beautiful. And I kind of want to gobble her up. (I had a sweet, sweet Daisy of my own who lived 15+ beautiful years with us - it's a great name!)

I can't tell you how much squealing I just did, and called Husband into the room to bask in the yummy puppyness of DAISY!! (Even though I think Ramona is charming, she is definitely very Daisy.) OH! She's just beautiful. I am n luv 4-evr. She just transports me back to junior high lingo, she's that perfect!

Okay, you're KILLING me over here. I know I'm going to have to get another dog, probably sooner than I'm ready for (for the Zerbert) but these pictures of the tiny brown eyes make we want to get one NOW.
