July 25, 2006 12:16 PM- much ado-do

I have three minutes to post. The purpose of this post is simply to get the previous one into the archives-- don't you have that feeling some times? Just throwing up a post to cover an old one?

Throwing up a post-- nice. And it's lunch time, too.

Things are a' whirling and a' spinning here at the bluepoppy-soon-to-be-ex-workywork scene. My goodness. The timing could not be more perfect-- it's as if the last train is pulling out of Insanity Station and I've grabbed a-hold of a bit of rope hanging off the back post of the caboose. Give me a minute and I'll swing my legs over the rail and stand to look back at the crazy I'm leaving behind.

Somehow it feels like a very Barbra moment . . think I'll start belting out, "Don't Rain on My Parade."

No, really. I think I'm going to go out into the parking lot and start singing it-- I know every word. And then? I'm going to shift into a rousing version of "Everything's Coming Up Roses" to which I will dance with my imaginary pompoms as I once did long, long before the dinosaurs roamed the earth on spectacular Saturday mornings in front of bleachers packed to the last row with screaming football fans to the rousing, blood-stirring accompaniment of our beloved marching band.

*Ding!*

My three minutes are up. A tres bientot.

got 2 cents?

We used to tell my dad (apropos of whatever age-revealing fact he'd just let slip): "Nobody's THAT old!" Then, just the other day, J. asked me if they had color TV when I was a kid. Ouch. Also: I would love to see your cheer routine!

*crashing my cymbals* I really did play the cymbals for one whole year of high school - and one year was enough! And the best part of it all will be when you can look back and can't imagine you were ever in Crazy Land, as life is so good and delicious. I am so happy for you! *crash crash crash*

I'm with Heather, reeling at the idea of your perky cheerleader days! I say every big life moment should be set to a Broadway showstopper. You'll be swell! You'll be great! Gonna have the whole world on a plate! (don't make fun of me, but I once played Baby June).
