July 07, 2006 7:22 AM- death by biscotti

Meanwhile, as I flirt with the law of attraction, fabulous people are sending me sweet surprises in the mail!

On Friday I found a box in my mailbox filled with the most gorgeous, light crispy chewy hazlenutty magnificence of biscotti from a California bakery. This incredible thoughtfulness was showered upon my head by Jecca, she who is wise enough to live in the land of sunshine.

I would post a pic of the chocolatey goodness except that bag was empty faster than you could say, "why you piggy piggy thing."

I inhaled it.

Gone.

But ohhhhhhh, treats from a real bakery-- Popeye can keep his spinach. I know what makes me strong.

And then on Wednesday I found a most wonderful book in my mailbox with a lovely note from that uber-trendsetter and publicist extraordinaire, Ms. Lauren Cerand of lux lotus fame.

As T and I are climbing aboard an airplane tomorrow morning bound for Philadelphia, I could not be more thrilled about having a terrific, new novel in my little hands. Some of you might remember (ha, do you love how I imagine you remember anything I might have written about-- my imagination, it could power a vespa!) when I got all wrapped up in the story of the Triangle fire.

I've only read the inside flap of the book Lauren has sent to me, but it looks wonderful and I'll tell you all about it when I get back next week.

Why are we headed to that place of high humidity that would be rife with childhood memories had I not had them surgically removed*? Ah, my parents have just had their 50th wedding anniversary in June and we are having a fete to celebrate. Given my family, it will be heavy on the French champagne and light on the heavy conversations. In other words, just what the doctor ordered.

I'll be back Monday-ish. Obviously, if I get any news about the job before I go I'll update.

*I kid, I kid. It was all rainbows and kittens, honest.

got 2 cents?

Have a wonderful time. Philadelphia's weather is not so great this time of year, but the sights are gorgeous. We just got back from Hanover, PA. (near Gettysburg) The weather was atrocious--hope it's better for you! Bois un verre de champagne pour moi!
