July 31, 2006 8:23 AM- le week-end

Part of the reason T and I chose to move to the town we now live in was to share in la grande bonhomie of our friends, Tom and Kitty.

Particularly as Tom and Kitty have a most unusual watercraft nicknamed the "tom-creaky."* The boat is a floating dock with a roof deck which is, really, the only way to travel across the lake.

Voila Cap'n Tom.

And here's Miss Kitty who isn't grumpy, just pregnant.

And, of course, how could I get up close and personal with my friends and put their photos on the dreaded internet without at least revealing my own damn self? Seems only fair.

The evening was quite lovely, with other boaters joining us, chicken cooking on the grill, kids screaming and splashing, until everyone pulled away and it was just the four of us again (and Pedro the dog) and we watched the sun slip behind the mountains.

*For those of you unfamiliar with the Kon-Tiki, this will be, alas, not so amusing.

got 2 cents?

The flowers are so amazing...the lake, the sunset (insert huge sigh here...) I think I live in a pretty wonderful place but this is just what I imagine heaven will be like. All you need to make it sublime BP are a few horses.

One of my favorite gigs J did in the islands was when we boarded (yes) the Kon Tiki for a musical Mother's Day gathering...and while he played downstairs, I sat on the roof deck and gazed up at the stars as we lazily circled round and round the harbor and Water Island. Heaven. Great photos...looks like an utterly fab time.

OK, immediately when your post loaded I just drooled at the flowers. I didn't even need to see the other beautiful pics. Jealousy dear, as always.

If I must float on the water in something a hammock on a raft sounds like the ideal way to do it. *longing sigh*

I'm with Liz - a hammock! On a boat! I am there! All I need is some sangria and I'm happier than a kid in a mud puddle. Lovely pictures! We're having some showstopping sunsets around here, too. They are just the loveliest bits of summer.

Your fresh water looks lovely! I don't believe I've ever swum in a lake. Must update to-do list. After all, I've been longing to visit Tahoe, not just see it from an airplane window.

beautiful flowers! gorgeous sunset...we can't see it here because of all the damn trees, only the glow over the tops. that is unlless you are going over the PA/NJ bridge and then it's just for a few seconds and you are back (depending on which way you are coming) to either looking at tree trunks in PA or ugly houses/factories in NJ...garden state my ass! oh btw...your picture makes you look like a hotdog in a bun covered in mustard...sorry, must be dinner time! :)

Hello, Christmas Day falls on December 25. It is preceded by Christmas Eve on December 24, and in some countries is followed by Boxing Day on December 26. Some Eastern Orthodox Churches celebrate Christmas on January 7, which corresponds to December 25 on the Julian calendar. December 25 as a birthdate for Jesus is merely traditional, and is not thought to be his actual date of birth.Good luck!
