January 11, 2005 8:14 AM- tuesday morning

I'm late.

Again.

It is a gorgeous sunny day here with a thick cover of snow, but no pics for you. I'm late.

This morning I am going to see a light healer. It's funny, I read Karen's TGIM (Jan 10) post and resounded with her statement about "Perhaps most important, I am conscious every day of good stewardship of my physical and emotional strength".

Yes. I have learned the hard way that taking care of body/mind/spirit is critical yet too often a challenge to do well when we get caught up in "life." I do try to keep it at the forefront and know without a shadow of a doubt that the reason I have made it through the past 5 years in the corporate jungle is due to 'good stewardship' which includes lots of energy work.

So off I go. I leave you with two new opines. And the rugged bears at play.

AFTERNOON UPDATE: picture below just in from T . . . we is pouring yet more concrete. This time for the garage. Now I ask you-- if your dream house was coming into being would you not be using the word "bone" in its perjorative sense? Or perhaps, you have more restraint than me . . I figured as much.

got 2 cents?

very good reviews! I had forgotten about Johnny Depp's delightful Scottish accent. And don't you wish that we could dress in such a very lovely fashion? The Fiance was confused about the separate bedrooms - I told him that 'upper class' of that time and society often did that - it was a sign of wealth and properity. Did I just make that up?

You are so right about Margaret Atwood! I hated, hated, hated the ending of Oryx and Crake. It was like she just got tired of writing the story and gave up. The same with the Blind Assassin. I got so caught up in the story and the characters and then, fizzle, nothing at the end. I love the action shot of the dogs. the one in the front looks so happy!

Sam-- if you did make it up, I believe you and will defend you to the death. Bad Penguin-- YES! She doesn't know where she is headed when she starts and then ends up in a swamp. You articulated it PERFECTLY. Can I just say--- Marquand is a consummate writer who knows EXACTLY where he is going so you can trust him completely and enjoy the ride.

Good for you to take care of yourself. To often I think we believe it is more important to take care of others to be a "good" person, but what good are we if we don't take our own advice. What does a light healer do?

I saw all of two previews for Neverland and have wanted to see it ever since. Now I am truly intrigued...and I even have two free passes to the movies. Joy!

Never did much care for Johnny before, but I saw him in "Ils se mari?rent et eurent beaucoup d'enfants" with Charlotte Gainsbourg last year (he has a very small role) and found myself wiping drool from my chin, dropping to my knees, and weeping for his beauty. He didn't even have any lines. (warning: The film is not great, it is only Johnny that is genius) Also--Recommended by Lizzie AND bluepoppy? Must. Read. Marquand. NOW.

1). i'm sorry, is there something wrong with your light? or do you mean to say you only require casual healing. oh my god, the crushing weight of my own lameness is nearly too much to bear... were... those..puns? blah. 2). i envy the lives of your dogs. 3). johnny depp has always been cool. come come, he's been mr. indy foreign weird guy forever. gilbert grape? ed wood? fear and loathing in las vegas? i mean really, the guy took a mainstream pirate role and made him a slurring drunk covered in eyeshadow.

Word on Atwood. I was SO disappointed with the ending of Oryx & Crake, and remembered she'd done that sort of thing to me before. Argh. I can't wait to see Neverland. :)

I unfortunately went into Finding Neverland with high expectations and was ruined - I thought the movie very unfocused and the plot whaffled and didn't elaborate on the important parts. However the design was fabulous - every scene a delight and Johnny Depp did truly steal the movie. The boy is so multi talented - the accent, the comraderie with the boys (who were excellant as well - played the part of children in those times uncannily) I think the only wrong casting was dustin hoffman, who couldn't play the stuck up owner well at all...

Your garage-to-be looks delightful; it is lacking only those hooded monk-looking fellas who trudge up the stairs endlessly, and never get anywhere because the whole contraption is a TWISTED MESS OF SPACETIME and thus a cruel joke at their expense.

P.S. The indefatigable Mr. Depp is a thespian genius. Pirates of the Caribbean was transformed into a decent movie because of him; what greater accolade is there?
