August 17, 2008 5:11 PM- a day in dog nation
Henry: Good Lord, what a day it's been. I could really go for a mojiito.
Henry: It all started off well enough. A bright sunny day- of course there are always those kinds of dogs that are all about getting their mug into every shot, *cough* camera hog *cough* . . .
Daisy: Dude-- you stress too much. Plus, those wrinkles? Really not so good to be out in the sun, if you know what I mean--
Ollie: Oh man, Daisy-- that was harsh.
Daisy: La la la-- I can't hear you.
Henry: You see what I mean? You see what I put up with every day? Oh sure, I know-- you think she's just this sweet-smelling lass rolling about in the field and clover--
Henry: Well, how about this for a vision-- imagine a swamp. A swamp filled with mud and stank and burrs and slime-- you got that? Good. Now, imagine that swamp is Daisy.
Daisy: You are so uptight! God-- sometimes I don't even think you are a dog at all! Look at this fabulous muddy puddle! Henry, come on-- get in here! It's great for your skin.
Henry: You know what they say . . you can take a girl to the creek, but you can't keep her washed up forever . . .
Daisy: I'm living large, baby-- and don't you forget it!
Henry: You are a mess, girlfriend-- M to the E to the double S, mess!
Henry: Let me just confer with the flowers now . . ahhh.
got 2 cents?

bp says: my house most definitely does not smell like dog-- burned oatmeal? yes. white sage? yes-- dog? never. Um, I think we are just lucky to have sweet-smelling dogs--Ollie and Henry both have those blessed short lab coats-- and Daisy is small and is in the creek (mountain stream) almost every day-- so that's got to be it-- I don't do anything special . . . posted on: August 19

MKC says: I love your dogs. Henry has such character in that face. My two dogs are like that, one stays perfectly clean all the time, and the other gets dirty just by thinking about going outside! posted on: August 19
