December 31, 2009 10:28 AM- yes 2010, yes!

magic seeds

Here we are.

In this part of the world, 2009 is wrapping herself in a soft shrug of white as she disappears down the hill. 2010 looms with a most unusual strong full moon; a blue moon event is wild enough, but an eclipse on a blue moon AND on New Year's eve? Well, color me dotty but I think that portends some serious ass magic for us all in this coming year.

And it's all about what we believe, n'est-ce pas?

Right now Joss Stone is reminding me that I got the right to be wrong-- something I like to remember as I reflect on the year past and begin conjuring the year ahead. I wish I had a list of links for you or some good thoughts or inspiring reflections or some such end of year wrap-up goodness.

Alas, I am between phone calls and writing to you in a smidge of time to blow my hypothetical paper horn-tooter-thing-y at you and say-- happy new year!

Instead, all that's on offer on this side of the screen is a nose that is sore and red, a brain that would be hard-pressed to successfully microwave a bag of popcorn, fleece pants that are begging for a trip to the laundry room, a stack of (still unwritten) thank you cards dreaming of a stamp and the steady grip of a postman's hand to send them on their way.

Outside my window the view is endless gray as snow falls steadily from a sky that you can't see, but I have faith.

I know the sun will return. I know the work will get done. I know a time will come when I have as much time as I like to roll on the floor with my three brombies again. I know 2010 is going to be the best year yet and I love knowing we get to share it together.

ooops there's the phone . .. whatever you do, when the call comes, say YES!

"Say yes to whatever it is. Because if you say yes to it and then you get in the middle of it, and you say, "Uh oh, this isn't really turning out the way I wanted it to," then out of that is born another desire. And as you say yes to that, then it turns out. And you say, "Well, it's still not quite right." So you have another desire... Until eventually you get it exactly right. You cannot get it wrong. No creation is ever complete. Just do it."

thank you for all the messages contained in this new year's missive--and thank you for your blue poppy thoughts over the past few months---it is so soothing for me to know/feel that there are others who have travelled a rocky road (and perhaps are still travelling) and yet make time to see the lake sparkling through the trees, the footprints in the snow, the sliver of moon at night and well, all that magic which dances even if we are a bad audience from time to time! and thank you, elizabeth, for simply sharing yourself---- by chance, I found you and Squam; by chance, there, I found myself in a cabin of lovelies and little ones and indigos and violets and urban hippies and winged jewellers and a present (-now-pregnant-) breather and soon-to-be-book author and I found myself, in classes, on walks, during meals, in front of a fire, simply enraptured with the incredible spirit of creative women and teachers; hey, this isn't meant to be a (wo)manifesto---I truly just want to give you a true hug of thanks. I so admire you!!!!
