The funny thing about the video above (uh, full disclosure? there's actually nothing funny about the video I took this morning-- I share it here for those of you who are desperate for sleep and have tried pills, counting sheep, chanting, breathing and still can't slide into nod) is that the wild sound you hear that cuts off the sound of my voice is the wind, but I have no realization that the wind is that loud-- in fact, the level of wind you hear is so incidental to me that it is only in the second video I express my regret that I turned off the camera before you could hear some wind, some kahuna of the north screaming down the mountainside wind.

That breathy swish that's recorded here? That's like a spring breeze in these parts.

In the event you came here looking for something good (can we respectfully submit that such an action may not be your best move today), let's turn your attention to some of the lovely things out there in the internet:

Ah going barefoot in a pair of Sorrels, yes I do know what 0% is like, especially living here in Minnesota. We are having a bit of global warming today; it is now up in low twenties and sunny. Thanks so much for the trek in the woods, I am now inspired to take a walk around Lake Nokomis which is two blocks from my house. Lovely winter voice you have too!

You so do NOT "suck at this"...that was really pretty fun and all while I sit here in my shorts and tank top. I've always had a bit of a wind terror (more so as a kid, but still a tad wimpy when the Santa Ana's really get going), so I watched this with big eyes, holding my breathe. COOL! I liked hearing you voice, which I never have and you talk just like you write :^) Thanks for this. Please do more, but next time I want to see what you're wearing. Just put the camera up on the Cairn, k? Please? I do have a sartorial interest!

That was such a nice hike, sorry I didn't have time to do it yesterday. I love your mountain top, and am always in awe that you HIKE it every day. I loved to hear your voice too, I don't know if I have actually *heard* it out loud, although it comes ringing through in your words that you write. Thanks for taking me along. (And, no, you do not suck at it at all).
