Jeanine lives in Mile End and let's just make note, shall we, that it must the be the uber coolest quartier in Montreal.

Yesterday morning the sun broke through after some early rain so that Christine and I were able to give the brombies a big, fat hour+ walk before loading into the car and heading north through Franconia Notch and across the top of Vermont into Montreal.

As we traveled north, it became increasingly rainy and gray but we had asked the Sun to follow us and lo, and behold, we woke up this morning and HERE it was! Bright sunshine, blue sky. Heaven. While Chitnis slept, Jeanine and I hoofed down the street to a fabulous bagel place where we got a bag of fresh bagels and shared one that had come straight out of the oven into our hands while we walked back to her apartment in the chill morning air. Ca alors!

It was a slow walk to and fro because I had to stop every three seconds to snap pictures. As a result, right now we are at the internet cafe and I can't share any photos with you until my battery is recharged since I used it up in the first hour of being here . . hmm, can we say someone is a bit over stimulated by this urban beauty?

On today's agenda is a trip to the Old Port-- tomorrow there's an art/craft bazaar at the Greek Orthodox church followed by stops into used book stores, boutiques, yarn shops and on Saturday, we're gonna help Jeanine get her Christmas tree and decorate it.

Holy hell, people-- I may just get into the holiday spirit after all--
