November 17, 2009 5:25 AM- the devil in Miss Daisy
Look at that girl. If those aren't devil ears, I don't know what to call them. And our vixen
definitely has the widest personality range of the three. Right now, she is as sweet as a
glass of mint tea on a Charleston summer day. Her head is resting on my foot but she lifts
up every once and again to lick my sole, before settling back down with a contented sigh.
In about ten minutes, however, she will bring me a sock (not a particular sock, mind you, but
any sock at all) and drop to her haunches and begin growling at me with the sock in her
mouth. This is my cue that computer time is over. Should I fail to respond appropriately,
she will quickly begin barking as if the house were on fire and that her barking, her barking
alone, will save us all.
In other words, some times she is the cuddliest, snuggliest teddy bear of a puppy you could
possibly imagine and other times she is a complete wench.
(hmmm . . . . shall we talk about zee mudder?)
Alas, poor Yorick, he bears the brunt of her wicked ways.
Daisy: Hiya, Henry!
Henry: This does not bode well.
Daisy: Pssst, hey Ollie. Wanna know whose throw up that was on your bed this
morning?
Henry: It was an accident. I ate a little bit too much grass, that's all. You said
you wouldn't tell.
Daisy: Gosh. He sure is in a hurry to get back to the house. Whatcha think he's
up to, hmm?
Henry: Oh no, not my favorite chew toy. He wouldn't . . .
Henry: Grrr. You're not the only one with devil ears around here, Miss Daisy. Just
you wait.
Of course all that was yesterday. This morning we got out on the walk by 6:30 which was
early but not early enough to catch the full pink sky, sigh. It's another spectacular morning
however. Sun. Sun. Sun. + no hunters = a very good walk indeed.
And, in case you think I make all this stuff up-- here's a very low quality vid I just took with
my camera not two minutes ago.
Megsie says: My dog is the same, except when I am on the computer, he moans. Pathetically. And. EVERY time you sit on the floor, no matter the reason, this apparently, is an invitation to play. posted on: November 17

terri says: Don't you want that sock? How can you possibly resist such a tempting toy - why on earth would you stare at that box instead of playing with adorable Daisy with the wonderful toy?
