October 07, 2008 10:05 AM- says the stick-eater

It seems despite my best efforts to ignore the appearance of October, it is intent upon dazzling me with the orange and the blue.

These shots were taken this morning after I'd given the dogs a bit of a walk. A very short walk, I admit, as time seems to be rolling faster than I can run.

This week I will be away from my desk quite a bit and then we have two sets of houseguests coming this weekend and then next week I will be away from my desk quite a bit more. Unless, of course, I make the wise decision to pull a Nancy Reagan on all these activities and find myself here with more time and less commitments.

Right now? In this very moment as I type to you? I could seriously crawl back into bed and sleep for about a hundred years. A deep sleep, mind you-- replete with snoring, drooling, and involuntary twitches.

Has anyone ever mentioned to you that Henry could be a real live Scooby-do? It's true, he's got the whole look and, bonus, he can do the goofy howl. Too bad I'm not interested in selling my dog. Think of the luxury spas I could go to if only I'd market him! Mexico, Bali, St. Bart's, Ibizia . . . sigh.

Off I go then--- it may be a while until I am back. Meantime, Daisy has something she wants to share with you all.

DAISY: Life is good!

P. S. This post from Christine Kane gave my spirit just the shot in the arm it needed tonight. In particular, her post SHINE BIG (#18 on the list) is simply perfect. How much do I love those high school juniors and their handmade journals? Oh, so much.

got 2 cents?

Speaking of Henry, I forgot to tell you that I had a dream last week about him. He and I were having terrific conversations; oh how he is funny and charming and surprisingly profound. Seems like he could scale a wall too somehow. Does anyone else have dreams of talking to animals she's never met or is it just me?

I'm with Swirly - can I be a houseguest and enjoy NH again? Besides, I want to meet the Brombies! You just torture me with continual pictures of them, don't you?
