Not sure what's up with all the Cat Stevens song references of late, it's not like I ever sought out his music, but there you have it. If there could be such a thing as a three-word blog post, this would be it: morning has broken.
After days and days of rain, the sun has cut through. A thick band of light pierces the velvet layers of gray sky to cross the lake and illuminate the red and gold treetops -- so much does it make me think of a spotlight hitting center stage I half expect the trees to shimmy and break out into an inspired version of this (um, in a more pastoral setting, bien entendu):
Last night, at about 9 pm, I headed up here to a studio that was still covered floor-to-ceiling-- and every open surface-- in piles of crap upon crap that was the aftermath of Hurricane SAW. In the past two weeks, it has been nearly impossible for me to get anything done because whatever I might be looking for was literally buried under crazy, chaotic debris-- and yet, until last night, I did not have the necessary vim to dig in and wreak some organization on the havoc.
Ah, but by midnight-- all was neat and ordered in my little kingdom and off I went to bed. This morning--- as I may have mentioned, we have breezes and a much needed infusion of the yellow stuff.
I've had coffee, sat and scribbled in my journal, and now I'm off to walk the brombies.
