September 21, 2008 6:58 PM- the winding path home

oh, sweet Sunday.

This was the first weekend since late May that T and I did not have houseguests and I must say, we sunk into the deep relax--- trying to do as much non-deep, non-heavy, non-emotional activity as possible which translated into: watching season one of MadMen, cutting the fields (him), watching golf (him), playing soccer (him), running laundry (him), walking dogs, taking long baths (me) and napping.

Do note my three chief pursuits of the weekend -- bed, bath & loaf.

But today I did venture out, slowly most slowly, with the dogs down into the fields, along the road, across the creek and back again.

HENRY: ooh gonna stretch out that kink--

I wouldn't even share these as it all feels quite dull-- but I must tell you I could go for some dull right now. In fact, that would be my dessert of choice in this moment: a bowl of dull, covered in dilly-dally, with a poke of mosey and sprinkled with fribble. I would eat it in bed and then crawl back under the covers.

ME: oh, I see it. I see just the shot I want to get.

ME: ooh, so close-- one more moment-- and I think I'm

~~~~ ! SPLASH ! ~~~~
DAISY: Was this the shot you wanted?
Yes, she's quite the confident, over-assertive personality. Again, I cherish this about her because it means she feels safe and loved. Of course, the butterscotch boys don't always share my appreciation of her sass.
DAISY: ummm, that leash looks tasty!
HENRY: heh heh-- go for it, girlfriend-- Ollie peed on it earlier.
OLLIE: *choking* Ack. A little help? She's choking me here.
Ah yes, my life is returning to normal. We're finding our rhythms and routines again.
And Daisy?
Well-- she's my spunky girl.
got 2 cents?
You are so gracious and now so deserving of that boring day in bed. I love your dog dialogues. Just the thing to make me smile before another Monday dawns!!! My monday means 330 kids coming at me down the hall...imagine that! Actually, don't! Just go back to bed and keep relaxing. I'm going to go find sleep now so I am ready enough for tomorrow. Warmly, Jess
Oh, how I could use a lazy Sunday! I'm so good at doing nothing, but the opportunities for loafing are so rare around these parts. Live it up for me, Miss BP!
