November 19, 2007 8:24 AM- still breathing, I think

Pumpkins and swollen gourds are still everywhere around these parts?piled on porches, lumped around mailboxes, on display in large wooden carts outside the grocery store. Or, maybe that?s just what I notice. Everything feels full. I see these orange, blue and yellow squashes, big and round, and think, ?they couldn?t grow another inch. They have stretched as far as they can.?

Projecting my feelings onto root vegetables. Hmm, I think this is a bit much, even for me.

As I type this, Daisy strokes her tongue up and down my calf. She is the spokesman for the group and that is my reminder that it is time to get these dogs outside. It is another spectacular day. The dull copper leaves glitter in the morning sunshine.

I want to express here that unlike last year when I was saying much the same thing, ?oh so busy, how can I be so busy?? There is a world of difference. A WORLD of difference. I do have a lot going on right now, it?s true. But it?s pure happiness. Much like a kid on Christmas morning with a present on her lap to open and more unopened packages in a sea around her, I am loving every minute of all that I am engaged in? it's just that I'm a bit, breathless.

And, we have 16 for Thanksgiving on Thursday replete with houseguests--- (don?t let me forget to take a photo of the table T created yesterday. Our dining room table seats 12 maximum. He built a top for that and now we have an 8? x 8? square that seats four to a side?16 precisement. That boy, I tell you?

Before I run, two links for you.

Loving these collages. Agnes Montgomery? check her out!!

If you go to the series Collage 1, and click through to the last one of the girl in the boat with the book and the poppy, you?ll know when I dropped to the floor in a seizure of pleasure.

Also, how much do I love these aprons by Dawn Houser?? SO MUCH.
(via funky finds found via Susan)

I cannot decide if I want the Daisychain or the Number 6. I keep going back and forth and back and forth. And, if you are giving me some kind of eyebrow, like aprons? Surely you can?t be serious, then you just don?t know me. I love my studio apron and it is a ritual when I put it on each day before starting to work. But these?these could replace my need for a purse when running around town?squeee. But back to my dilemma, Daisychain or Number 6? (And don?t say ?both? to this part-time faculty whose weekly gasoline bill as she commutes up and down the state siphons her wallet of any mad money.)

got 2 cents?

Nope, got to be Number 6 for my 2 cents! I brought back two vintage aprons from sorting out my Mom's house last week that are very cool. One is similar to a wrap-around dress but it has to be ironed-ugh. What, no snow yet? We had snow this morning! Beautiful fat, sticky flakes! Enjoy!
