May 01, 2007 11:14 AM- daisy's first spring

Daisy: What is that great ball of yellow light?

Ollie: That is the sun.

Daisy: You are so wise and all-knowing. You shall be my teacher.

Ollie: Good idea. First thing you must learn is how to wrestle.

Daisy: Great! I love to wrestle.

Ollie: Now, you must lick my balls.

Daisy: What?!

Daisy: Um, no. I think I?m going to go look for another teacher. Nothing personal, dude. Just need someone with a bit more soul growth experience, okay?

Henry: You wish to follow me, grasshopper? Ah, but do you have the self-discipline?

Daisy: Yes, master. I am prepared to follow where you lead.

Daisy: Wait, master?I cannot see you. My path is so filled with debris. I cannot see where you are going.

Henry: You must first clear the debris from your mind, little turtle.

Daisy: Oh no! Look, the pretty hemlock has been killed by the wind.

Daisy: Oh, it is so sad. Why, master?why? Why did the hemlock have to die?

Henry: Hush, little cabbage, I am channeling with the spirit world.

Daisy: You don?t have the answer, do you?

Henry: Er, no. But I am magnificent, non?

Daisy: Well, these two don?t know so much. Guess I can figure it out for myself. I?m thinking the hemlock was tired and wanted a chance to start over. Sometimes when you?re being pummeled by a relentless wind, you just give up.

And sometimes, when your owner forgets to buy dog food cause her head is up her butt about some totally unimportant thing like writing a grant she?ll get up and make you a big bowl of white rice for breakfast and serve it to you warm. Then, she?ll take you outside?where there will be sun and the hard wind from the night before will have softened into just a whiff of breeze.

And you get the feeling that everything?s going to be okay.

got 2 cents?

A perfect springtime tale! I especially love that squishy face picture of Henry. And! Velcro has gotten bagels for breakfast more than once...when his parents forgot to buy dog food. Somehow, I don't think he minds so much!
