February 25, 2007 10:17 AM- selvedge sunday

Sometime ago-- weeks now, I ordered up a few copies of Selvedge magazine. I wasn't sure if I wanted to subscribe or not as I had never seen it except online, so I ordered the first, the most recent and a couple of others that grabbed my eye.

And then, I forgot all about it as the order confirmation message told me it could be some long weeks before I received the issues.

They arrived yesterday and oh my my my, or as my French cousine might say, oh la la la la.

This morning I sat in a bank of morning sun with a fresh cup of coffee and slowly consumed the premier issue. It is intimidating for sure-- a whole new world where I am but a wide-eyed traveler, but oh how dazzling and inspiring and -- well, if you are into fabrics and color and whatnot-- it is all about celebrating the handmade, individual creation and I love it.

Now? I am off to the hardware store to get some paint chips-- it seems I am finally (finally!) going to start attending to some interior decor-- let's see if I don't dissolve into a heap of indecision-- but I am focused on the mudroom, so how badly can I mess that up, hmm?

On second thought, don't answer that . . .

got 2 cents?

I was just going to ask how much it is there. It's £7.50 here ($14?) which I always think is too much. I flick, drool and leave without buying it every time too! I really do drool...but inspiration is priceless right?

Tobias and the Angel was worth a look ... in the products section of their website. Lovely stuff - all of it.

Spooky Sunday similarity! I have a Selvedge subscription that definitely takes the edge off the $$ - it is a pretty good deal given the cover price. And I think of the issues more as books... that helps, too...
