February 04, 2007 11:08 AM- blossoming

There has never been a Januray that flew by as quickly as this past month. Didn't I just plant these pips?

Today is the big day and I will spare you all the metaphors that are itching to be used to try and sum up all that I feel and all that has transpired for me in just twelve months. It all began a year ago with the launch into The Artist's Way. And, oddly, I know that today is just another beginning.

I wish I could share with you the sweet fragrance of these petits muguets.

Helas, a picture will have to do.

got 2 cents?

These will forever remind me of my grandma. Lilies of the valley surround my grandparents old white farmhouse with green shutters every spring. What a nice warm memory on a sub-zero day. Thanks!

To betray my ignorance: what are pips and how does one obtain them? so pretty.

oh please-- I'm a total johnnhy-come-lately to the gardening world and a hack at that-- pips are just what you call the roots for these flowers (lily of the valley) but same name is used for other roots like peonies, etc. In your part of the world I bet you can find them locally in a nursery-- i purchased these on line from White Flower Farm (CT)

So lovely! Lilies of the valley don't seem to grow here in the Southland, so they seem so exotic and special. Beautiful indeed! Like spring incarnate.
