August 29, 2006 8:11 AM- to your rescue

With any luck, one of these days soon this site will be overtaken by a guest blogger. He says "guerrilla blogger," but, you know, whatever. At this point I'd take a bonobo monkey since I can't seem to string two sentences together or do just about anything else.

Although this did just occur to me:

Hyperlinks are to footnotes as bloggers are to_____?

Ah, yes-- exam season will soon be upon us but is there anything in this world that can bring a smile to my lips faster than the knowledge that I will never, ever, ever have to take a standardized test again? Well sure there is, but you know what I'm saying.

One of the gazillion things on my to-do list is to help my niece with her college application essay (as I did for her sister). Not quite sure where I'm gonna squeeze that in the next few weeks but it has to be before October because, OMG, October is going to whip my butt but good.

Has there been enough rambling here for you yet? Shall I stumble further around in this cavernous skull of mine picking up things I find on the ground and holding them up for you to see?

The need for a guest blogger is great-- do give some encouragement to T to get his butt in here and share something with you-- of course, there are no guarantees, calls to join the fray often drive him deep into the opposite direction, but it's worth a shout.

Things I have loved of late: last night's US Open dedication to Billie Jean King (how I ADORE BJK--she is one of my true heroes), watching Les Invasions Barbares for the second time with T (his first time) and loving it all over again, and oh, I'm out of time. Must go jump in the shower.

In sum, all is super well-- love my new job--am FEELING the seasonal change down to the marrow of my bones--am moving at a pace that gives a young snail sliming up a wet stone wall the edge--may be a bit absent here in the next 10 days or so (or not, but possibly yes)--with any luck, you will have exerted your siren calls and that guerilla guest poster will be powerless to resist you. Then, I can be off doing nothing in peace knowing you will be entertained by the raconteur of raconteurs.

got 2 cents?

Oh, do you do that? Review college app. essays? If I gave you one AFTER October, could you look it over or is that reserved for family members? I hope you find a groove that lets you feel all the happiness of the new position and none of the awkward newness. And I hope you can wear leggings there.

Essays, essays, essays. I'll be doing my graduate school one soon. Dreading it. Need to explain why I want to continue my social work education...how do you diplomatically say "I want my MSW so I can make more money?" Take care. J

Is it already fallish there? We are still enjoying some summer, although it's supposed to rain tomorrow. Good luck with the essay help; I will be there in another year, helping our younger daughter write one.

If T won't be a guerilla for you, just post a bunch of Soliden fall photos. That'll keep us happy. :P

I am in full agreement with Claire. Blogging from T and the Butterscotch Boys would be great. Ooooh, and Fall is creeping in over there. That means we don't have too long to wait here. Fall is truly my favorite season. Have a wonderful day! :)
