February 26, 2006 6:55 PM- a winter's tale

I trust everyone is happy now. Snow. Snow. Snow.

Everybody wanted snow. Well, we got it. A big, fat sparkly 8 inches fell yesterday. (Hooyah! More plowing for me!)

And though there was the terrible chance I would catch cabin fever and begin navel-gazing to disastrous effect (Example A, below):

The world was saved by that Boston heartbreaker and bon vivant, Tara. Yes, kids-- wearing cowboy boots and toting bottles of wine, Tara arrived at my snowy stoop ready to create some magic in this winter wonderland.

We cooked, baked, drank, talked (talked talked talked) watched a film that I just don't have the heart to diss cause it was very sweet and I know many people whose opinion I respect liked it-- but although lovely and original in parts-- overall it felt cloying to me and the lead woman was WACKO-- not just kooky/eccentric and lovable-- rather, someone to avoid getting into a relationship with in the first place cause her t-shirt had "boiling bunnies" all over it. But, the kids in the film stole it for me-- they were perfect. (So what the hey-- I might as well have written an opine--sheesh).

This morning we got up and after a lazy Sunday brunch we strapped on some snowshoes and hiked the mountain behind the house.

Now maybe it seems I didn't do any snowshoeing here as all the photos are of the Boston beauty. I surely did. It's just that the only record of me on the hike is when I sat in the snow and tried to get Henry to kiss me.

got 2 cents?

Henry looks like he's trying to work out exactly how much trouble he'll get into if he goes ahead and does what he really wants to do, which is bite your nose off.

Love your t-shirt and scarf in that first photo. Henry is hilarious -- I love how he's raising his eyebrows at you. Enjoy the snow for me -- I'm sending palm tree thoughts in your direction!

I'm so glad you're getting the snow up there (instead of us weenies down here), but sorry that you have to keep plowing it. Are the boys allowed out without leashes now?

You are lovely! And it is also lovely when you post puppy pictures. I think I am a little in love with Henry. He looks like the Clark Gable of the doggy world.

operating on that whole tried-and-true "be careful what you wish for" principal, I keep checking myself, trying not to be jealous of your glorious snow... because our winter has been decidely lacking in pretty snow (can you say GLOBAL WARMING?! I knew you could!)... but now that we've gotten this far, I just want spring! Green leaves! Tulips! But then I look at these pictures and I think... okay, Yahoo! Map me up some directions and push the Boston beauty outta the guest bed cuz I'm a coming!!!
