January 19, 2006 7:40 AM- peace-seeking missive

One thing about doing the morning pages for the Artist's Way thing-y is that my dreams (which I never remember) are getting more and more vivid and detailed and damn, if I don't remember them. Not enjoying that so much although I do know it's all part of the getting in touch with what is truly going on process.

I'm tired of conflict. Weary of battle. And as we all know, there is no way to peace--peace is the way. Gotta start wrapping me up in the old peace blanket. (Just hope I get the one that isn't infected with smallpox--- GAH. Now I just had visions of red postules and a miserable death. WHEN WILL THIS END?).

May there be peace before you
May there be peace behind you
May there be peace above you
May there be peace below you
May there be peace all around you
May you walk in peace

Blessed be, baby--blessed be.

got 2 cents?

It's kind of cheesy, but I always get weepy when I sing: "Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me..." Been singing it a lot this week with MLK day and the Jill Carroll situation. God, that's all you can do: sing, pray...let it begin with you. xo

Yeah, those morning pages - they're tricky that way. You have to face stuff you'd rather not. Just as soon as I write, 'So and So is driving me CRAZY' then I have to start writing what I could do to make the situation better. Takes all the fun out of complaining - all this moving to a solution. And by God if it isn't WORKING. Praying peace your way, and that the blessings will be so overwhelming that they put all the other things in the deep, dark shadows. And now I'm going to walk around singing "let there be peace on earth", thanks to Teri!

Try enumerating your blessings instead of focusing on your conflicts, maybe? *hug*

I LOVE it when I remember my dreams. They're like little vacations...well, when they're GOOD dreams. And sometimes they're not. So, then they're a little like having been kept in a torture chamber. And I love your photo...how gorgeous!

Oh god it takes me back! Ah, morning pages, ah artist dates! I've done the artists way a few times - kind of too many to do it again, so reading about your AW experience is a great way to get a taste of it. Looking forward to seeing where it takes you...p.s if that view is near your house can I come and pitch a tent?!

the morning pages are funny aren't they? I find it interesting to begin to be the observer of your own thoughts. And I have found that the dreams to rise to the surface too. Wrap yourself up in that peace blanket my dear, wrap up....

Like the man said... all we are saying is give peace a chance! (He might have added, "especially when being woken at 3am on a regular basis by screaming babies," but didn't on account of it being a tricky phrase to fit neatly into war protest songs.)

We all could use a little peace... Sounds like you guys could use some time away- even just for a few days. Maybe some sunshine and blue waters? Just an idea. ;)
