January 06, 2006 6:40 PM- every picture tells a story

Or, in my case, every picture tells the same damn story!

But no, I jest. Henry and I had a lovely day. Here is a photo of him in the back of the car.

He was stressing. See? Can you not tell? Does his furrowed brow not look so very different when he is genuinely stressed from when he is just fine? And no, he had no reason to stress. He's a big baby and starts to whine whenever we separate him from Ollie which we do every once in a while to try to keep him from being a freaky-attached-at-the-hip-with-his-brother kind of dog-- GAH, I will shut up now.

But see? You might think he is stressed in this photo too were you only to rely on the furrowed brow as your guide to the inner workings of his emotional space. But you would be wrong. Here he is very happy.

We happen to revel in the cover of snow. It soothes the spirit. And, for those of you not from around here-- this kind of snow means very mild temperature. It wasn't cold at all.

So beautiful. I love snow like this...when it feels warmer than you expected and you want to stay out in it all day. I am a little jealous because we just don't get snow like that out here.

Henry's furrows look so pet-able! I could tell he was completely non-chalent in the second photo. Your snow is so lovely - it makes me wistful for white winters :>)

So beautiful and serene looking. Sometimes I wish I lived in snow land. I'm wondering where you live...Henry is a handsome dog. Part shar pei?

Your pictures are making me think I should crank up the heater. Brrrrr.... Life in Oregon is at about 52 degrees, though, so I'm okay. The doggies are so darned cute!!!

OH.MY.GOD. Dogs furrow their brows! Somehow I never made the connection between human brow furrowing and dog brow furrowing. I know this is absurd but you just blew my mind for some reason. I'm never getting a dog that can't furrow its brow. As God is my witness!

Yes, Henry looks quite pensive in that photo. How can he be worried, with such beauty around him?

Just stopping by to say hello from AW. Just love your black and white photos of the snow...really spectacular! But Henry...what a cutie! I have a Boxer/Lab and Holly has the same furrowed brow when she's "thinking" or stressed. A sign of their intelligence, I say. Wishing you all the best at AW and I'll see you at Kat's place.

O, BP! These photos are utterly incredible, capturing the very kind of snowy day i always mean to capture and never quite do. I think these are my fave photos of yours ever. EVAH! o... now if only we would have a good soft snow like that, or a hoar frost day, instead of endless days of greyed down rain and fog and wet slushy snow.

So pretty! Here everything is grey and soggy, which is nice for reading English novels, but does not give one the energy to Get Things Done.

Oh, Henry with his snowy paws! I love that silly - I mean, very serious - dog. And you say it was mild, but your definition of mild and my own defination probably differs by several tens of degrees Fahrenheit. Nonetheless, it's all so lovely and snowy where you are, the kingdom of Soliden.
