January 05, 2006 3:26 PM- taking down the tree

I've been putting it off all week, but today I'm taking down the tree. No, really. I am. In a minute. Before I get into another episode of Firefly. I'm not putting it off. It's just I have to finish making this apple crisp and then I'm gonna tackle it. Make short work of it. Get'er done.

In just one sec.

It's the perfect day for it.

Or, a nap.

Also a perfect day for a nap.

I think the real question is, Captain Tightpants or a nap? Tree-taking-downing always seems like a weekend project to me.

Ohhhhhh, the dogs, BP, the dogs! That is the most beautiful photo I have seen in a long age. Wish you had a bigger version of it, it's absolutely gorgeous. Happy New Year to you, dear BP, and may 2006 be wonderful.

Gee, my tree is still up and it'll probably stay up until, hmm, June? It's fake so no rush. There you go, you have something on me. Look at you with all your energy! Must be the naps.

I'm planning to take our tree down this weekend. Although, I like the sparkly lights at night. Still...it's time.

I have taken down the tree, but I holding out on taking down the "holiday village" (full of gorgeous, perfect houses for elves and other residents of the North Pole to live). I love the way it looks, but also I know that the minute I take it down, my husband will flood that counter with piles of paper and other junk. BTW, my son Adam watched the whole season of Firefly last summer when he was home. Of course, he didn't actually purchase the episodes... he 'found' them somewhere online to download.

I hate taking down the tree... the house looks so beautiful with all the decorations up. Afterwards, it's just kind of... winter :-( On the other hand, hot chocolate is the perfect antidote!

What a pretty tree! It would be a shame to take it down too soon! Besides the apple crisp might burn if you're distracted by all the tree de-trimming...

A perfect day to nap I think. Hope you took a nice long one. We have been watching Firefly as well and just need to buy it instead of trying to catch the episodes on sci-fi. Love it.

I would take it down, but seeing as it's at the cottage and I just put it up on the 27th when we got there, I think i'll keep the spirit up a bit... Maybe I can put on my green coat and do a camouflage thing.

ha! my husband and i have a 'silent deal'...i put everything up, he takes everything down. and both when the other isn't even at home so we can't rope each other into helping. i get to put it up, which, i think, is more fun anyway. ;) p.s. can't believe how pretty it is out your window.

I wanted to take mine down on Christmas Eve (I'd already had my Christmas by then), but I friend talked me out of it. So now it's on the list for this weekend, as well as cleaning the damn baseboard. But hmmmm ... apple crisp and a nap with the pups? You're a bad influence BP!

I hate taking down the tree. We used to all abandon my mom when she would start. Now I guess I'm the mom and everyone abandons me.... Beautiful!

You know, the Spanish (or at least my Spanish mother-in-law) always wait until at least the sixth to take down the tree. Los Reyes Magos. So, you're not lazy. You, my dear, are Continental.
