June 20, 2005 10:22 AM- the old and the oh-so-old
Yesterday was our wedding anniversary and if all of my worldly goods weren?t boxed up in some self-storage locker and if we weren?t without internet access at our current place of residence and if we had done something really cool to celebrate, I might have posted some funny pics with a little story whereby you would get to know me and T better than before.
So, hypothetically speaking, there might have been a post here today.
Instead, I scribble to you from my desk as I scarf down some yogurt before heading into yet another engineering meeting.
First, I must tell you that I finished The History of Love last night and it was wonderful.
Second, I took a gazillion photos of Soliden yesterday so that I can share them with you soon--- Sheet rock! Ladders! Hanging Wires! Bricks and mortar! It?s a happening and I cannot quite believe it. The wireless internet guys (who have had our money for 20 days! grrrrr) have promised that tomorrow they will install our internet hook-up. If so, I will be able to get some visuals up here by the end of the week. In fact, since T is headed to a wedding in Seattle on Thursday not to return until Monday*, I expect I will be deep into Project: INTERNET OVERLOAD this weekend. Expect much activity at the old bluepoppy site, or not. I am unpredictable, of course.
Third, there is some list out there of what you give your beloved on each successive anniversary. I never had that list, so here?s what the old boy has gotten so far. And I would make further comments on the list, but the trajectory is just so sad, non? What?s next? A gift certificate for Efferdent? A rocking chair? A subscription to Reader?s Digest?
1st Naked photos of me
2nd Sexy lingerie for me
3rd A weekend get-away on the coast of Maine
4th A bag of marshmallows (our house had just burned down two weeks before)
5th Compilation of our loveletters
6th Golf vest
7th Lawnmower
8th Vacation to Nantucket
9th Vacation to Nantucket
10th Vacation to San Francisco, Carmel, Sonoma, Napa
11th Dinner at our fave restaurant
12th Vanilla ice cream with butterscotch sauce
*Why am I not going with him as weddings are THE party event for people over 30?live bands, open bar, hotel rooms?because we have two dogs, because I am too overwhelmed by my current work, because travel takes it out of me and I would get nothing done for the rest of the month if I did this trip. Isn?t that pathetic? Don?t you have the greatest disdain for my puny, weak self now? Yes, yes you do.
got 2 cents?

Marilyn says: Happy Anniversary, BP and T! Gee, times flies...it seems like it was just your anniversary last year...
Wait...wait...YOUR HOUSE BURNED DOWN back in year 4?! Good lord!
Here's hoping next year's anniversary will be celebrated in utter Soliden splendor...and that the next year will bring you both the joy that can only come from not just owning, but building, one's dream house. Hugs. posted on: June 20
