Looks like an elven fairieland. the lyrics from "take my breath away" and "christmas song" ('love, love, love is all around') are in my head as I look at these...

The lake makes me think of the loch at Hogwarts - just yesterday I was contributing to the blockbuster Harry Potter weekend - and loving the magical boat on the waters. As always, my fairyblogmotherfriend is something to be truly thankful for. I'll eat an extra dollop of sweet potato casserole in your honor.

I'd be a lot more thankful this year if I were living where you do. Beautiful. My apartment views the LA freeway.

Ohhhhhh those photos! Actually, that top one is rather like where I come from. Uh, upon closer inspection, are you sure that's not Scotland?!

We're celebrating by not having Thanksgiving. We are giving thanks that there is nothing requiring, compelling or even motivating us to do anything Thanksgivings-ey. Except there is a store here that will cook your entire dinner for you for $20-something dollars so this might not work. No, actually I give thanks for everything wonderful in my life, of which there is much!

T-day is my favorite holiday, but not for the historical reasons. It's my favorite because it revolves around food and drink and you don't have to get anyone anything and they're all fine with you not getting them anything. Who could ask for a better holiday?

Things I daily give thanks for:

- my wife and the tiny tots, each one of whom is gorgeous and special, and slightly mad
- the existence of Marmite
- not owning a horse
- being able to enjoy my job, however rarely
- amusing and interesting blogs for me to read
- not living under an oppressive regime (Blair's unremittent erosion of British civil liberties notwithstanding)
- having a warm roof over my head, clothes to wear and enough to eat

I just wanted to say to everyone who reads this: Happy Whatever Day It Is ! Celebrate and give thanks for your blessings each day that you make it through. Pass this thought on to your kids, and they'll pass it on to their kids, and so on... The pictures? Valhalla...
