November 18, 2005 9:28 AM- a big day

Today is a big day.

1) I have taken a DAY OFF from work!

2) Er, for some, November 18th will always have special significance.

3) We awoke to our first dusting of snow (which will surely thrill me less in days to come, but firsts are firsts).

4) And, there is a chance that, it seems possible that, indicators are favorable that, maybe, seems likely . . . we could be moving out of the unheated apartment above the garage (my stiff, cold fingers ache for some Fagin gloves as I type this) and into the house.

BUT DON'T HOLD YOUR BREATH. (Especially if a cloud of vapor forms in the air as you exhale).

As you may recall, this was previously scheduled for oh about six weeks ago. However, I am submitting the following evidence to substantiate my thesis:

Exhibit A

Exhibit B

We also have eyewitness accounts of a frenetic dance scene that took place on the just finished living room floors last night somewhere between the hours of 10:05 pm and 10:27 pm to the tune of "Walking on Sunshine." Dogs were allegedly involved.

Still to be completed are: stairs, railings, base board, bathrooms, kitchen--- but we've come a long way baby, from this

to this

Blessed be.

got 2 cents?

ah Lizardek my father said THE EXACT SAME THING---no, we have a ton of earth that has to come in and fill in around it, but that won't happen until the stone walls are built-- so next Summer, probably--and we don't go in the front door right now, obvs-- we go in through the garage.

Jeez, that place is like Versailles! Can't wait to see photos when you move in! And you have enough room to invite all your readers for a sleepover! I'll bring the comic books.

Ah, the good friends ONLY use the back door, or the garage door...whatever... Has it already been a year since we heard the T story? Wow, way to make a girl feel old. I love the T story.

Ohhh, *sigh* It's just soooo lovely. And I want one all to myself NOW. It is probably a terrible thing that I've come to find your blog only in the last month when you've already gone through the arduous process of framing, etc, and now the rooms look all glossy and serene. It is terribly misleading... We got snow here too, by the way. Definitely a special first. Although, our offer was not accepted... so, back to the drawing board as it were. I'll comfort myself by coming here and oogling.

ooo...stone walls. sounds so old world european, which as we know, is my current phase. 11/18 is special for my parents as well--they just celebrated their 27th wedding anniversary. Your anecdote of dancing on the new floors reminded me of my roommates in college...many nights you'd find us ignoring the frat parties outside and cooking chocolate chip pancakes at midnight while dancing around the den with ladles to "wake me up before you go-go" etc.
