Wash. Rinse. Repeat.
Because people think that they are original . . .

Hey! House done yet?

Almost.

Weren?t you guys gonna move in-- in like September?

Oh we moved in. Just not to the house, exactly. We?re living above the garage.

Yeah? Great. Isn?t it cold?

Not if you?re in bed, under the comforter, with the dogs on top of you and you?ve left your socks on.

What do you do about your clothes?

Um, I kind of, you know, brush the sawdust off them each morning. But not for much longer.

Oh so you?re done?

Almost.

Kitchen?s done?

Er, coming along.

Aren?t you cold wearing those summer clothes?

A bit, but all my Fall and Winter stuff is in storage.

So why don?t you go get it?

We?re Yankees. There can be no reward without the maximizing of inconvenience and discomfort. Anyway, there?s no where to put it all until my closet?s done.

And that?s done . . soon?

Oh yeah.

How do you guys cook?

We?ve got Esse, our woodstove.

Oh well?you know, you don?t look so bad, really. I mean it, really.

You?re too kind.

How?s Henry Van Wrinkle & Co?

Good. Our new plan is to make them think they are cats.

UPDATE: Um, yeah-- I am project manager extraordinaire (direct descendant from Psyche she of the lentil/corn/bean sorting)-- it's why they pay me the big bucks. However, *clears throat* one reason my marriage is still intact at this stage in this incredibly long and stressful project is that I have STAYED. AWAY. from the scheduling/managing. What you see in the chart above is T's handiwork. His alone. Although I did BUY the whiteboard for him . . .

got 2 cents?

Even though they make me jealous, I agree with Saltwater Princess - keep the photos coming. And love the pups!

it looks AMAZING and you don't even have counter tops yet. ps-am i'm sure you look amazing too-silly people i mean why say, "you don't look so bad" this not a complement. i think you should reply well you too and you have a fully functioning bathroom and closet full of winter clothes. and then stick out your tongue (you know just to drive home the point of how ridiculous their comment was)

You are braving out the weather and not even complaining. But when I called my Bonnie yesterday, she was down in the dumps due to a fairly heavy snowfall. She wailed, "And now it's going to be like this till May..." She is a weather-weenie-Westerner, after all.

LOVE THIS! you made me snort coffe out my nose. And your sink is amazing. See, I just lov this kind of thing. I love interiors, I love seeing what people do to them, the stages of creation, all of it. If I had my way, of but I would so be a professional peeping tom, spying on all the folks in this neighbourhood and that (whilst (whilst!) hoping feverishly they weren't also spying on me back, but of course!). So intriguing. I love you so for indulging my inner voyeur!

Your dogs are so adorable! They really are excellent sources of heat aren't they? I remember reading an article a long time ago about how some explorer stranded in an ice-storm survived the night by huddling up with his dogs. And though I never, ever plan on exploring the nether-regions of Alaska like this guy, I remember thinking to myself: "Good to know! Now I know how to survive if I'm ever stranded in the snow with my dogs. I'm so well informed. Yup."

Okay, it's now quite apparent that we must organize a Send BP A Sweater Drive and send you warm wooly things to keep you cozy. Or, maybe just hot chocolate. I was really impressed with the chart, as well, and even MORE impressed that T's keeping up with it. As I grow older, I realize the inherent usefulness of to do lists and yet I never seem to cross much off the list. Therefore, they are evil.

Things look great so far. Can you light a little fire outside? Or a fire-pit, the kind they sell at Target? That would be cool. Build a tee-pee. LOL

HAHAHA...you make me laugh! I LOVE that freakin' sink!! LOVE~LOVE IT! Ummmm...can't tell if that's what was going on, but whenever we light our stove in the living room, the 2 dogs and cat have to crowd around us...especially our Lab Rudy who get's shaking her butt and tries to take the newspaper away from Dad. That was the first thing that popped into my head when I saw your pic! ANYHOO...I think it's all looking quite FAB and living above the garage is such a small sacrifice! (says the Mainer with no heat on her second floor)! LOL

Oh, you goddess of home building. Even though you shy away from the PMing, you are still a inspiration to those of us insane enough to home improve whilst living under the same roof. This weekend we shall be warriors and install a new floor in the living room. Not as exciting as cooking on a woodstove, but it's my small effort to be just like you.

. . yeah . . . I know it's gotta be a bummer on several different levels, and not all of them girly . ./ . but it also looks like such a n adventure . . . and you are living in your house as it is being built around you . . . that is very cool . . . :) K
