September 21, 2005 9:42 AM- linens and toiles and silks, oh my

Has anyone else noticed the weather? The fact that it has been nothing but clear blue skies, high pressure, no humidity, hot sun-- bref: the best Califonia weather ever, EVERY FREAKING DAY. Unreal. Truly unreal. It's like I'm living a dream. Oh wait, I am living a dream.

And don't you dare wake me the hell up.

Another late night last night-- but oh so good. I had dinner with Elisabeth and Clotilde at a wonderful restaurant in the Marais called Vins Des Pyrenees (thanks to Clotilde who knew of it) and we closed the place. Je n'exaggere pas. And it was sublime.

This morning I rolled out the door (into the dazzling sunshine, bien entendu) and down the street into the marche Buci to fetch me some milk, coffee, croissants et pain. And yes, Virginia, there still are little French men who wear berets.

Strolling about, I started to see combinations of blue and orange everywhere. Worse, I started doing a photo essay of blue and orange. But I quickly said "gaylord, gaylord, gaylord" three times fast and the queerbait demon that had seized ahold of me, relented and moved along down the street.

After breakfast, I headed up to Montmartre.

Now most people go to see the Sacre Coeur, but not me--- oh wait, perhaps I have not ever mentioned to you my addiction. Hmm, it seems possible (despite our many, many months--years, verily-- of hot internet love) that you do not know something about me.

*clears throat* Hi, my name is *mumble* and I'm addicted to fabric.

And, as it happens, the fabric district in Paris is in Montmartre-- marche St. Pierre. Dozens upon dozens of stores with bolts and bolts of fabric plus floor after floor of all the haberdashery my little heart could possibly imagine. *sigh*

Now I'm off to see a woman about a bra. A bientot.

got 2 cents?

So gorgeous! I just can't believe the beauty. Oh, I'm sending a link of this page to my florist, she will die at the loveliness of it all. Eventually, since she may not have Internet post-Katrina.

Le Swoon some more! And frankly, I think there is nothing queerbait about orange and blue photo essays...nothing queerbait about it at all. Nor the fabric obsession.

What I want to know is...do you actually BUY fabric...and if you do, what do you DO with it? (I'm digging for further secrets, see...)
