August 04, 2005 5:00 PM- so much to say

but am drained like a swamp they've emptied to search for a dead body. I know I said that Winter kicked my ass but that was before I knew this Summer would see a wretched Mercury retrograde smack-dab in the middle of the biggest product launch I have ever run (read millions and millions)-- a time when our new owners feel it is a good idea to beat us up as much as possible (perhaps they subscribe to the break them down and then build them back up philosophy?), a critical time when my beta site coordinator walks in and tells me he has booked a flight to England and is leaving TOMORROW and will be back in 2 weeks and my response was, "were you expecting your job to be here when you get back?" The very best thing in my life right now? The house. Totally solar powered!!!! It is a haven of sweetness and light. And if I can drag my sorry ass over the finish line, it will all be worth it.

And? On Tuesday (August 2) the amazon rankings had dropped to 10,653 !!!! And, tomorrow for those of you in hotels*-- USA Today is supposed to be running an article on design and featuring some kind of blurb on the book. The book has also been featured in the San Francisco Chronicle and the Sun-Sentinel in Florida . . .

This weekend is the book launch party my friend Ally is throwing and people are coming from all over. I'm getting ferklempt just thinking about it. Fortunately, my friends will just get me drunk and roll me down the hill or make me jump over the bonfire which should knock my self-consciousness right to hell.

Anyway, hardly a post. Hardly an update. However, one of these days . . . when you least expect it . . . .

*I say that cause the only time I ever see a USA Today newspaper is when I'm in a hotel. But you know me, backwoods, toothless illiterati.

P.S. My photos look like sh*t cause I'm so without the tools I ususally have to frame them etc--- but I have wanted to try and put something up here. AND, don't know what is going on with my left margin but the whole thing is making me CRAZY. F*CKING MERCURY RETROGRADE!!@#@#$

P.P.S. And you missed me, right? Missed that sweet mouth of mine.

UPDATE: What a difference a day can make. First, that man of mine had me talk it all out last night and gave me a back massage that ensured a deep, dreamy night's sleep. Second, he took one look at the site and said, "your photos are too large." Diagnosis complete. I had pulled the pics from an email where they had been sent in Picasa-- blah blah blah-- the end result was I hadn't readjusted their size. Et voila. A little bit of alignment and my world just feels better.

As for all of you lovelies---- ghosts (and their friends) are all welcome-- I think once I get settled in I'll host my own version of BlogHer (maybe next summer?) which will just be a gathering of my blogging buddies where we eat gorgeous food, drink gorgeous wine and hang out with no purpose whatsoever. (Naturally, running through the fields in the moonlight with bells on and our faces painted blue is optional)

Are you in?

got 2 cents?

I know I was warned, but I've expired from envy. My green eyed ghost wants nothing more than to haunt your house for all time. Please e-mail me very detailed instructions on how to get there... or hold a seance or something. Make sure the butterscotch boyz participate in said seance so i know which supernatural portal to zoom thru. Please.

lest you be worried about the haunting, let it be know I will be all Casper and stuff. you know, a ghost of tthe friendly type. Haunting will consist mostly of playing with your dogs, stealing any unattended chocolate or cake and rearranging your flowers in pleasing manner. May, also on occassion, hog the remote.

The house is beautiful, and what a cute pic of you. That first pic is great too, looks like something out of Maxfield Parrish. I'm so sorry things are stressful at work, but I know you'll karate chop those problems, win the day and ride off into the sunset to Soliden, I can't wait til you move, once you inpack the stress level will diminish considerably. Here's to inching toward the finish line.

Well, hel-LO gorgeous! (and when you stand next to the house, I can see that it is a sprawling ginormous house!) So lovely, all of it, and you the most of all! And - yipee! on the book. I hope the launch party is crazy wonderful and that if you do jump over the bonfire, you won't catch your limbs on fire.

Was wondering if anyone else recalled the polka dot bachelorette photo...can't believe you made us wait another YEAR to post a photo of yourself. I would love to partake of some female solidarity at Soliden (solidenity?) Put me down for smudge sticks. Not that Soliden itself will need them, of course...but you know, WE might. :)
