May 10, 2005 11:16 AM- rabbit at rest

Question for you:

Does anyone else fantasize about sleep while they are sleeping?

Yeah. I didn?t think so.

From 7 p.m. Friday night through 7 a.m. this morning, I was in bed and/or sleeping 59 hours. That?s out of a total 84 hours available. My god. Even I?m shocked. But can I say, delicious? Incredibly, sweetly, magnificently delicious? If fresh whipped cream could be a verb?it would be this sleep.

And, while I was drifting in and out of sleep I was concerned that I would never have energy again so I found myself fantasizing about sleeping (in a beautifully appointed Paris studio apartment, obvs) for three days at a stretch while a lovesick Frenchman waited on me hand and foot until I was back to myself again. Normal, non?

Of course on Sunday as I stumbled around the house mumbling nonsense to T who laughed at me (in a most un-mocking way, surely he was not mocking me) for thinking I am so much more of a nutcase than I am. But clearly there is something wrong with me? Who in their right mind needs so much sleep that they actually crave more while in the act of sleeping? I ask you.

What brings on this level of fatigue? People. Other human energy fields. I kid you not. I am an introvert?which is to say I get my energy from being alone. And, my energy is sucked from me when I am around other people. Alors, when I don?t pay attention and I spend too much time with too many people without my requisite alone time, I go into full-out spiral down, plane on fire mode.

But, I am happy to report. I?m baaaaaaack. This morning I woke up and I felt clear, in the pink and full of la joie de vivre. Tra la la la.

Hey?since you?re here?anybody wanna play the marketing game with me? There?s this book my friend Jane wrote that?s coming out. How could I get it to float out through the blog world like a body being passed over a mosh pit? Does anyone have best ideas for college blogs as this is a book for college students, mostly. Any and all marketing ideas are most welcome.

I?m all ears here.*

I love to sleep too, especially when I'm cozy and snuggled in under a thick comforter. Next time you travel stay at the Westin or the Sheraton hotel, they have special "cloud" beds, heavenly. Glad you're back and well rested.

People are always surprised to hear that I am a strong "I" on the Myers-Briggs. But it's true. So true. I love being around people, but I love being alone with my hounds and hubby more. Marketing to college students.... I volunteer as a mentor to a bunch of them. They appreciate honesty, humor, low cut skirts and MD 20/20. Seriously, I'd say you'd have to get it in the hands of some influential students, get them talk 'bout it, and have them viral market it for you. They love to communicate via text messaging. Email is just so last year.

Are you kidding? I have dreams about having dreams about going to sleep. I love me some sleep - it's the only time I'm not puking.

Dormir, c'est "delicieux." Je n'en ai jamais assez. C'est comme une drogue.
