April 12, 2005 3:38 PM- the mind at work

I have this stuck in my head--- Song to the Moon (from Rusalka).

Why Dvorak? Why this song?

Who knows--- but it is feeding me. It is gorgeous.

A Mary update for those of you following along at home. She is back at work?I went and connected with her this morning and she is doing really well. Very fragile, but seems to have good support and a good path forward. Although I did hear her paging Al twice today over the loudspeaker. *sigh*

Wish I had some more pictures to share with you, but I got home late last night and crashed early. Instead, let me share with you some things percolating around in my brain:

~ Maybe I want to be a yoga instructor. What do you think, Nichole?

~ Earlier today I went here and followed her link here and did the test only to find out my perfect partner is?Frida Kahlo?! Gah. Oops, a little mistake there when it said which to choose (female or male) and I chose female because I didn?t read the directions and thought they were asking which I was which explains a lot about my SAT scores. BTW, I did go in and do it again and ended up with Michelangelo and Richard Wright? which seemed like a pretty good fit except for the part where they are both gay. Why would the computer think my perfect mate would be gay? Oh, that?s right, I?m really a man?I forget that sometimes.

~ Flax is so cool. I have this huge book on the history of flax--- did you know only certain people were allowed to seed the fields? (There?s actually a name for them. I can look it up for you if you really want to know . . ) And they were much revered for their seeding prowess. I think one of the reasons I love flax is the blue flowers that come and go in a single day. Like a poem. But I also love flax oil. And linen. And Belgium. And waffles. And, oh I'll shut up now.

~ Croila sent me this. Blue Poppy?the flower of Edinburgh. Are you reading this, T? Hmm? I hope so as I believe somebody owes somebody a trip to Scotland . . . and somebody is going to be very upset if that trip doesn?t happen until that somebody is very, very old. And yes, somebody knows that other bodies are very busy building houses, but this is an important reminder, nevertheless.

~ Oh, and mercury goes direct tomorrow--- praise Allah! I am so done with that backwards movement with the endless delays and communication snafus bullshit.

And on it goes . . .gah.

got 2 cents?

Everyone can relax now ... I've met my soulmate thanks to that quiz. Unfortunately, it would seem that my soulmate is dead, plagued by ravens and hearts which thump mysteriously and unrelentingly under the floorboards, and also pretty much penniless. My soulmate is Edgar Allen Poe. Hmmm. Wee Poe. Wee Poe. Wee Poe's wobble but they don't fall down! mwahhahahahaha...ha. cough. ahem.

I, too, had done the soulmate quiz...and also entered "female" at the start...so I also ended up with Frida. But, hey, a girl could do a lot worse. Personally, the eyebrow(s) work(s) for me.

I had no idea flax had such a rich history. I took that test last week. I had a choice between DaVinci and PT Barnum, whom I chose because I think Leonardo would be too caught up in his work to make our relationship a priority. Oh yeah, there was also Van Gogh, but I've had my fill of half-crazed melancholy men--no matter how creative.

I got DaVinci and Poe! Poe is a local boy, so I went with DaVinci. Interestingly enough, I have been to Baltimore, where Poe is buried and Amboise, where Da Vinci is buried. You as a yoga instructor sounds pretty cool to me.

I had a choice of three: van gogh, da vinci or henry 8. I was in Scotland last year. With the pound so strong (even against the euro) the trip was hugely expensive. Maybe T is waiting for the dollar to get stronger? ;)

Okay, choice #2 is Leonardo Da Vinci. How is THAT like Henry VIII? I'll stick with the Rubber Chicken Guy.
