April 08, 2005 9:08 PM- meanwhile, back at the ranch

As his wife contemplates the extraordinary swirls of her navel, T continues to bring beauty into being.

Good thing someone around here isn't all caught up in the unbearable lightness of being.

Ed. NOTE: When a roof is finished, the tradition around here (maybe all builders do this?) is to put a tree on the top-- symbolic, ceremonial-- I don't know the origin of the tradition, but it's what is done. And, no-- of course T has two guys working with him. I certainly didn't mean to imply T had built this all by himself. Though he is up there both days of every weekend, including right now (Saturday 8 am) as he will be tomorrow from morning til dark. But here are pics of Paul and Dave, the Dream Team.

They are AMAZING--they are so hard-working and sweet and everything those other guys (the ones T had to fire) were not.

And, the ceremonial tree.

got 2 cents?

That may be a little Charlie Brown-type tree, but the house is anything but...good lord, it's HUGE! Or maybe it just seems enormous to me since the place we're looking at renting would probably fit into your walk-in closet. Beautiful work. Can't imagine you're going to be anything short of blissed out once you take up residence.

Okay...bloody WOWWWOOWWWooooooo! Incredible! I can't believe how quickly this manse has gone up! And where did T learn to do this? Was he just born like that? Was the umbilical cord wrapped around his waste like a little embryonic tool belt with all sorts of fanciness strung to it like tape measures and hammers and levels and stuff?

Wow BP, your place is going to be HUGE...are you sure you want to clean all that? I have been living in a 3500 SF house for the past 20 years, and I am looking forward to downsizing once all the chicks are totally out of the nest...it's all about the cleaning, baby!

I was always told that the pine tree on top was to help keep the builders safe and to bring good luck. Beats me where or why the tradition started though.

Wow, I'm a little behind in the times here to be commenting, but I've just spotted these photos. I absolutely cannot wait to see what Soliden looks like when it's all done, because it's looking so fabulous when it's only halfway there. Beautiful, absolutely beautiful. I'm so happy it's taking shape for you!
