I forget how The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe ends. It's a happy ending, non? Children reunited with their mothers, evil wizards destroyed, hot chocolate for everyone . . . I sure hope that's how this story ends.

I guess anything that ends in a friendly game of hide-n-seek can't be all bad.

got 2 cents?

I don't really think it's fair that Soliden looks as lovely in the DEAD OF WINTER as it does every other time of year. You are one lucky duck. :D

Those pictures are beautiful, and I love looking at them from a place with no snow.

*tears of laughter freezing into icicles on my cheeks* oh yeah, Marilyn--- you are on a beach somewhere digging your toes into the sand feeling the warm sun on your back, listening to the waves lap . . . it's perfect up here alright if the SOUTH POLE is your idea of a good time . . .*more ice on my face* Feh.

Oh!!! Gorgeous Hoar Frost! We've had exceedingly weird weather here too... yesterday posted the highest temperaures for the date in January in all recorded history. We've had many a day of rain and fog and freezing ice pellets here. Now we're dipping back into the frosty temps. It's wild and unstable and not a bit comforting if you ask me!

Beautiful photos. But this is why I only lasted one year in New England after college. Everything looks so pretty, and then you go outside and it is freezing. Until May. And my God, the shoveling. The endless, endless shoveling of snow.

Bad Penguin . . you went outside? That was the first mistake . . never, never go outside--in fact, it's really best if you never, never get out of bed.

the shoveling? listen, since we have to live in this modern world (unless you're bp the pioneer, who's pouring concrete in the same fashion as the native americans did) we should at least be able to savor the wonderfulness of snowblowers. i absolutely love snowblowing a drifted driveway (and mowing lawns) the blatting two-stroke engine? uhhhh. good stuff. plus the little directional thingy? you can aim it at the dogs... it's pure heaven.

The shoveling isn't so bad, the first 100 times. After that, it starts to wear on you.
