January 07, 2005 7:38 AM- you guys

You guys crack me. Your comments are so good. I'm thinking I want to redesign this site so that it is not POST then COMMENTS but more like an IM conversation. Hmmm, thinking. We'll see what comes of that idea. Maybe it was a "High Idea?" (see her January 6, 2005 post).

Anyway. Here's what's new this morning. I am late for work. Again. But must hurry cause I have two meetings this morning that I did not prepare for AT ALL. Six inches of snow fell last night but no icy rain *crossing fingers* so off I go.

Before I do here are a couple of the pics I wanted to share. The thing about this new camera is that it has a 12X leica lens. I had wanted to be able to zoom in close on things I wouldn't otherwise be able to capture. Of course, first day I am so gingerly, GINGERLY experimenting with this new camera, futzing with settings etc Henry walks right up and puts his wet nose directly on the lens! Ack.

At this time, it is a struggle for me cause it is all so unfamiliar and I have an appallingly low frustration level (I believe it correlates to somewhere between the frustration level of a 24 month - 3 year old child). But I am going to be patient AND two guys I work with (great guys not the pinheads) each have the same camera --Panasonic DMC-FZ20 and they are wizards so I'm hoping for lots of lunchtime tutorials and NO I will NOT be offering to bone them. No Boning in the Workplace.

Here is the elusive Ollie who is so hard to capture cause he will never stand still log enough but on zoom lens-- I got him!

But of course, the intrepid photojournalist must be prepared for the unexpected things a long lens can poke in on discover.

got 2 cents?

Bluepoppy channeling...US WEEKLY?!! Tros bien! I love that there's a bit of obstruction going on with the back of the car. it's very Angelina and Brad CAUGHT with the 12x leica lens. Or perhaps it's more Billy Bob and Brad...

I peed my pants at that last picture!!! My poor big boy Buster gets head humped by TWO male Jack Russells all the time. And he just smiles and takes it. BUt I thought it was just something that Buster and his friends do. I just didn't know that head humping was so popular with everyone!

The other morning our sunrise was GORGEOUS but I didnt have my camera (at the in-laws) so I grabbed the camcorder and recorded it. Then I realized its the same video of my sister-in-law's sweet 16. MrZ's Dad are going to love that. hehe. Great pics!

good god. this is when you're supposed to fish your pilgrim hat, (the one with the buckle) from the closet and roll up a newspaper. some dog owners are terribly embarrassed when fido starts dry-humping a visiting car tire; other owners hide, use telephoto lenses, and publish the shots on the web. truly there were monsters on that ship, and they were us.

I adore that shot of Ollie with the snow behind him. It makes him look like a wild pioneering doggy.

The look on Ollie's (or is it Henry's) face as he is being humped is pure worry... "I hope this doesn't go on too long, the neighbors might talk... maybe my cold nose will make him stop?"

I love winter pictures. Those are great and not bad for a new camera. Just keep practicing. Ollie is so cute, and just doing what comes naturally.

Yay! Snow!! I can't wait. And you are doing pretty good for not knowing the lens from the shutter button. ;) So how did those tutorials go? *eg*
