Well kids, the truth is bluepoppy has been a bit more blue than poppy of late and despite her efforts to distract herself here with buzzed posts and rambles on the inevitability of flower addiction, she has decided to exercise her gallic rights and take a European vacation.
(No. Not Chevy Chase in a station wagon. Perish the throught. Rather, a six-week holiday a la francaise).
There's no cause for concern--- this is not a forced retreat like our friend Courtney Love (though after yesterday's post I can see how you might get me confused with a heroin addict)--- it's simply time for mlle coquelicot-bleu to use these early summer hours to write and her evening summer hours to go for swims in the lake when the sun makes the water a golden pink. And then to wake up all refreshed in the morning and write some more.
With any luck, I'll have good news to report on the other side of this private MacArthur colony I've created for myself.

Oh. I AM crestfallen. I will miss you terribly and think of you often.
Still... I shall find strength in what remains behind. The pretty flower pictures, mainly, and the knowledge that somewhere you will be getting good work done and eating delightful things.
