June 13, 2004 4:07 PM- scrotum flowers

So Friday night T and I went down to Boston for a wild dinner party that had us drinking pitchers of cosmos until 10 before sitting down to osso buco and risotto and that culminated in an out of control pingpong tournament in the basement with lots of smokey treat all around.

I had the dubious honor of driving us home at 2:30 a.m. which was the only un-fun part of the night.

My good friend Tara (pictured above), came up Saturday morning and we headed to the beach which was gorgeous. I fell into a sleep that was so deep I don't believe I was even on the planet. Ta said I looked very peaceful, but I'm sure she thought I was dead.

Because she works here, she always brings me tons of books which makes my heart sing. This visit she brought an oldie but one I hadn't yet read which has my name all over it Wicked. Thought I'd dig into it today, but we got up this morning-- went to the gym and then hiked a trail from the 82 that leads to a mountain top. The dogs, of course, came with. Ta took this pic of me with my mutts.

Along the way we saw what's commonly called, ladyslippers.

But I ask you. Ladyslippers? I say Scrotum Flowers.

Please, have you ever seen a lady's slipper with veins? C'mon, people. You know I'm right.

got 2 cents?

Where are you?! It's gorgeous! (I agree...those posies are definitely of the scrotum variety.)

Thank you for the loudest laugh I've had today! These are indeed gross! But oh goodness, the scenery in your other photos is beautiful ... All that water! And green! Beats concrete streets hands down, doesn't it?

Scrotum flowers, very amusing but really veins yes but varicose sacks such as these... well I'd be pretty worried if I were Mr BP and you came to that conclusion looking at those flowers. Besides there's no hair!

*shrieking* oh my god Red Baron! MWAH. No. There is NO association with my silly riff on the mis-moniker of a certain flower and the resemblance to male genitalia of any persons in my acquaintance alive or dead and most certainly NOT to the man with whom I share the bond of marriage. Were I ever to reference T's body on the internet (and there will never be such a day) it would be in regard to Michalangelo's David. But Red Baron, just between us, your comment did make me howl with laughter.

I hereby rename those flowers now and forever. Also? Ping Pong rocks.

I'm glad it tickled you! On closer inspection of the pictures I find disturbingly that in the second pic the 'plant' on the right has a Chernobyl-like quality, so I am extremely glad you cleared up the 'any resemblence to person or persons alive or dead is purely unintentional' thing, I wouldn't like to think that Mr BP is a glow in the dark kinda guy!

funny, I just finished reading 'Wicked' - it's very good! If I ever see a ladyslipper, I know I will crack up, and I resolve to admire their beauty from a distance. Surely they look more slipper-like from a 'fur piece' away!

What a wondeful view. Sounds like we had somewhat similar weekends--travel involved and all. Where are you again? Did you say this already?

Have I ever mentioned my handicap? That I am geographically challenged? Zoot knows all about this, but perhaps one day I will share the trials and tribulations of being utterly clueless when it comes to things like, time and space and things in relationship to one another geographically.

Wee productivity report: I'm reverting a bit. I had a good grounding brown desktop pattern going on, but it started depressing me with all it's brown-ness. So know I have a desktop featuring five little potato shaped, multi-armed monsters. There's a fair amount of green going on, but the monsters are wearing yellow t-shirts and one of the monsters is orange with red spots so i figure it cancels out the green. Also, I took my sweaty socks off the desk and dropped them on te floor where they belong so I figure my chi's all balanced and happy, just as you would want it to be!

Completely and utterly scrotum flowers. Should be renamed "Blushing Scrotums."

Am forced to agree with Kate on the blushing issue, as the hue of the alleged nutsacks is hardly natural. I daresay that even whilst blushing, my own danglies look nothing like the above items of shamefully indiscreet flora, but nevertheless the image is simply too apt, and they will remain forever Blushing Scrota in my heart.

That reminds me: I once dated a guy who called himself Scrote. He even introduced himself that way to my parents. Yes, I question my judgement too.
