March 20, 2004 2:38 PM- First Day of Spring

Not the most auspicious start to the season of hope and new beginnings: we came down this morning to three inches of snow and an unmentionable explosion from an apparently sick puppy that was sprayed over walls, floors, dog beds, book shelves and was also all over said puppy.

My good luck in all this (and given that the windows are open and I've burned white sage and the stink is still everywhere we can conservatively say my GREAT luck in all this) is that T came down first and had it 90% cleaned up by the time I came down. So, all I had to do was offer encouragement, appreciation for his efforts and brew a big Bodum of french roast.

Now ensconced in the nook (I'm going to post photos this week) I have quite a lot to wrap up today. Book stuff will be the main focus of the day.

Gail (our agent) returned the contract to the publishers last Monday. I think our requests are reasonable and I trust it will get wrapped up soon. We told her we wanted it signed on or before April 2 and I'm hoping she can make that happen. If we get into a Mercury retrograde (April 5-30) I'm concerned Peg won't sign. Big sigh-- gotta trust in the universe that it's all gonna work out. But, if final final final manuscript is due May 15 (what the contract says) I've got to seriously shake some booty and get these last sections done.

I'm thinking I'm going to bring it into work with me this week, but mostly I have to get mucho accomplished today.

This blog was built three years ago and never went live due to my inability to achieve any of my goals. But, hey! The blog now lives (such as it is) and I have an agent, a publisher, and my first book due out next Spring. So, something's getting done even if it takes me years. I gotta remember drops in the bucket add up.

I'll be interested to see how dull my thoughts and reflections are once they are out of the bubbling bourginon of my brain and onto the unforgiving page. And, I'll be interested to see how the feeding and watering of this blog affects my life. Alors, allez allez--- allons-y!

got 2 cents?
